The WORST customer service EVER! My wife was T boned in her new car. Hit on the driver side, rear wheel Had full coverage, and it took 3 days for them to cough up a rental car. They wouldn't open a claim the night she was hit....because it "was not an emergency". Then, it took 2 days to have the car appraised and towed to the shop.....and a MONTH to have the car repaired and returned to us. They REFUSED to change the tire that was in the accident, sustained impact from being T boned. I had the tires removed the day we got the car and put BRAND NEW winter tires on. The deductible was waived, but because the adjuster is harder to get on the phone than Elvis Presley is ...... we almost had to pay it up front when we picked up the car. Then, the car had an alignment issue within 700 kilometers of being "repaired"...it began chewing up the BRAND NEW WINTER TIRES I JUST HAD INSTALLED. After my wife getting frustrated with dealing with the issues, I stepped in. I called the insurance company in Bedford MYSELF at LEAST 12 - 14 times....and the ONLY person who I managed to get on the phone...was the switchboard operator/front desk girl. The accident happened at the end of October 2015, and it is now January 8 2016...STILL HAVE NOT SPOKE TO ANYONE BUT THE FRONT DESK GIRL!!!!!! Within a month of driving 14 kilometers to work, and 14 kilometers home from work...the car chewed up the left rear tire.....the one that was hit in the accident. So we called the insurance adjuster....who was almost impossible to get on the phone. We were told to take the car back and they would re-align it. After the shop aligned it, they called Portage Mutual to get authorization for payment....SURPRISE! Not able to get the adjuster on the phone!! $80.44 more out of our pocket. So now we had to pay to pick our car up from the shop who aligned it....and voila...they said they are not paying for it! So I called the adjuster 2 hours ago.....what a surprise....she wouldn't answer her phone or call me back!! For someone who has been with them for 6 years, has 3 vehicles through them, NO tickets, the only claim was when OUR CAR was T boned at the fault of another driver.....we seem to be getting top notch service. Shop around. I just got a quote for the SAME service at about 55-65% of the cost from two other insurance companies. Tammy, thanks for calling me back! We appreciate it!!
