Port Dover Getaway Cottage

A lovely walking area with so much history and views to enjoy. You really get the best of everything; you've got a good view of the castle from here, boards with history on them, good walking area with separate bike lane, lovely shingle beach and of course good ice cream. You can watch the boats coming into Dover from here too. It's nice to see the area being used by so many people, everyone doing there own thing and just enjoying being outside.

Big delays at passport control. French messing about causing delays. 2 hours so far sat on tour bus waiting Hope we are showing them the same consideration at Calais giving them a nice long weight too. Needs sorting give them what they give us they will soon buck up.

It is port which connects UK and Europe. The English Channel separates apart the UK and Europe. You will reach France once cross English Channel by Ferry. It is almost 2 hours drive by Ferry. Ferries are comfortable with all the amenities in. From Hotel, toilets to good resting zone. You may enjoy the beautiful journey by looking at the English Channel. You can get your vehicle parked in the Ferry.

Driving into the port everything is well signposted. Border control can be a bit on the slow side. The staff on the ticket booths are usually friendly and helpful. This is my port of choice when travelling abroad.

What a wonderful experience. And such a beautiful part of England. Seeing " The White Cliffs " of Dover was amazing. The staff was awesome. We were on the ship in no time.

Impossible to sleep at night if you are anywhere near the seafront due to the horrendous noise coming from the Western Dock area as boats are loaded. The Harbour Board doesn’t care about the comfort of Dovorians, only the profit they can make at whatever cost to the people. This constant lack of sleep is nothing short of torture.

There is nothing to compare to Dover Port.

Whom ever is in charge of Dover wants sacking asap, ceo bannister has admitted he knew this was coming, but bet he had a nice relaxing weekend off and did nothing about it , he didnt even have the Gumption to put any traffic warnings out, and dont blame the French, the buck stops with YOU, Your supposed to be in charge, sat in Dover town center 1 1/2 hours, as the traffic brought the whole place to a standstill , missed 4 ferries due to lack of traffic management, got to dover at 0235, still sat waiting to board at 0630 and still not moving, absolute imberciles that are in charge, greedy and incompetents, wont ever use this place again, and thats down to your poor, mismanagement of somewhere as busy as a port, absolute clown, how you have the cheek to collect your pay is beyond me, i wouldnt pay you in welk shells

It's getting there! Weekend live music on the quay side, outside bar, food stalls and clean everywhere by the seafront. The rest of the town still needs a bit of work though.
