Port Credit Library
"The closure is as a result of routine, structural monitoring of the building. During a recent assessment, a few of the caissons or piers that support the building were found to have degraded due to exposure over a prolonged period of time. While it is being repaired, a Pop-Up library location is available at the Port Credit Memorial Arena."

Quite accessible to main port credit area and right opposite to the lighthouse. Faces the park and can be a good reading area while you see kids playing in the park. Staff is approachable for any support required and are helpful. Might be not of the same size as other libraries. Had decent collection of important books required under most of the genres.
Quite staggered by some of the reviews of others mandating what a library is supposed to be - some commentators seem to have confused library for funeral home, such is their odd quest for explicit silence!nnIf we were talking about a library for an esteemed university I’d grudgingly say there was something to their claim, but a community library is a place for people to foster a love of reading and, especially in this screen ridden world, a love of reading in the children which some commentators have taken a 3rd-reichian level issue with.nnPort Credit library is quite simply a perfect little spot to drop in a while away a few pages while also having an impressive array of ebooks on offer too. Kids section is great but the views out of the all-glass walls are especially serene. Can’t wait to catch it during the winter. I’m sure a new level of coziness will be achieved.nnAttentive staff, always on hand, and any calls I heard in the few times I’ve been were people making support calls to government entities, likely based of research being done on the free computers, which are a lifeline to some.nnNot sure when if ever, silence and community went together outside of perhaps a Buddhist monastery. hope future reviewers take note, such a wonderful FREE service isn’t meant to serve your whim for silence, but rather a welcoming spot for talk ages to further themselves in anyway they need with support at hand.
I am a frequent user of our Mississauga libraries across the city. I also support local farmers who come to our city. Today I arrived just before 9am and was urgently needing to use a washroom. The Port Credit Farmers market portable had a long line up. I noticed that the library employee was getting the door open next door, so I politely asked if I could use the ladies washroom. Unfortunately I was denied. I personally spend 40 years of my life serving the public and it bothers me to see so little human compassion left within some of us. There are unpredictable life circumstances when we need show a human touch, and I think this particular staff member had none. I realize that library wasn't open yet, but again would you turn down a total stranger from your home stairs if they had an emergency. I wouldn't, so what happened here, have we all lost our empathy for others? There is a saying “A little kindness goes a long way” where doing small nice things for others can make a big difference. It's like dropping a pebble in water – the kind of act spreads out and can make someone's day better.
Workspace review - NOT A QUIET LIBRARY. Every time i've come it's been noisy. The staff don't seem to enforce a quiet environment. There are also only 2 study rooms and 1 meeting room, and unfortunately the sound from the meeting room carries over to the study room next to it, which defeats the purpose of it being a study room. Would love to see quiet rules enforced here - would be a game changer! The library itself is nice though - bright, good lighting, and a few different areas to sit. Probably great for kids, but bad for people who want to focus or read, which is ironic.
Great location, nice interiors and ample space to sit and study/work. Separate Quite rooms are available when booked.
