Came for a beer and some dessert and Poor Phil's did NOT disappoint. This is one of the best neighborhood bars I've ever been to. The food is always packed with flavor and always at a reasonable price point. The service is always top notch and the beer selection is always fantastic. If you get a chance the women's bathroom has some interesting artwork you gotta see!
We enjoyed lunch here today. Very quaint atmosphere, very large beer selection. Staff was very friendly and attentive. My friends enjoyed the fish and chips, and the plant-based chicken sandwich. I ordered the blackened catfish po-boy with red beans and rice, it was very good!!
First time here. Love the oyster and gumbo. Would love to come back and try something different.
Chole our server was pleasant and fun. Haven't been here for 15 years and things are just as nice. Atmosphere and food is delicious. Best fish and chips. Wonderful neighborhood to walk around after a good meal.
I had the oysters, very fresh. The hot wings, bbq wings, and mozzarella cheese sticks were really good, as well as the sweet potato fries. I will definitely return. Parking: I went for happy hour so parking at that time was ok, we had to walk a half block to the restaurant once parked.
my usual spot for Cajun in the neighborhood. Great for Happy Hour oysters. Today is just perfect for solo dining on a sub-freezing February winter night in Oak ParkRecommended dishesPO'Phils N'Awlins Gumbo
The food was awful. Ordered the gumbo and I dont know what they served but it DEFINITELY was Not gumbo. Just take it off the menu. It was like a thick gravy, eww. The oysters were ok, as well as the mozzarella sticks. The wine was the best part of the meal. I wouldn't go back.
Cool place to chill and have dinner inside or outside dining. Plenty of beer choices and don’t forget to look up at the beer taps! Sea food is pretty good for a sports bar. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would go back. Just my opinion, you’ll have to be the best judge. Please like if this review helps you decide what to do. Enjoy.
Love this place. It’s an Oak Park institution for a reason. Their “lobster bites” are one of my favorite appetizers, and their lobster roll is really solid. Nice staff, awesome beer selection, and great to sit outdoors when the weather is niceRecommended dishesShrimp Basket, Lobsterroll, Jambalaya, Clam Chowder, Fish and Chips, Crab Claws, Snow Crab Legs, Crab Craw
I'm satisfied with everything here. So good and inexpensive. Crab cake, Crab craw, Oysters, Clam chowder and shrimp basket so fresh so good. Shrimp basket with tempura style so light so crispy not too heavy. Dip French fries to crab craw garlic oil...so good. Black tea old-fashioned after one 16oz light draft beer and finished with 12oz Jaramazoo stout and ice cream Sundae for end game.
