What a a great little spot to grab some high-end audio hardware and dig for some vinyl! For Christmas we picked up a ProJect Turntable with a Phono Pre-amp to work with my powered monitors at home and absolutely love it. Our vinyl selection was Billy Joel's - The Stranger, Hall & Oates - Greatest, Prince - Sign of the Times, Al Green - Greatest and Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love. We also put a few on order. Looking forward to grabbing some more vinyl and upgrading our home audio with these guys. Very friendly and awesome service all around!

Candyland for audiophiles. Needed a new pair of headphones and got myself a really good deal on bluetooth Mies for 75+TX. Wish I had the cash to go retro and get me a pretty turntable. Boy has old Ottawa South gentrified itself over the years. Lots of hip restos, shops and cafes.

I visited last Sunday afternoon and I was blown away by the service. Great selection of quality vinyl. Listening area for customers to try out speakers and equipment before buying. Found the greatest Ray Charles album that fits perfectly in my collection. Really great staff, I will be back when it's time to upgrade my speakers!

Just bought a stereo system to replace one from my university days when having a good stereo was like having a good phone now . The staff is very knowledgeable and recommended components that would work with the music you like as well as how you play it. There was absolutely no pressure and you could spend as long as you like listening to all the different possible combinations of amps and speakers. They have a wide selection of excellent equipment and the store is just a cool place to visit. It is amazing how good the sound is and my kids enjoy showing off to their friends what great stereo sounds like.

Excellent audio shop! Staff is knowledgeable and patient with my questions. They were very helpful when I had trouble with my Denon record player and when the time came, they helped me upgrade to something else without hassle. The atmosphere is friendly and not pushy. They will work with you to get good equipment to match your budget . Highly recommended!

Just awesome! Bought a set of Grado headphones. Kathy was very helpful and reassuring when I had her order them for me. She let me know the progress by phone and by e-mail every step of the way. Just a wonderful buying experience!

The lady who was there the day I was there was very helpful. I bought a turntable I didn't try it yet at home but based on what I heard from trying it in store, I think it was a very good deal. Even though I was there only for the table and made it very clear, she accepted to show me some other stuff and to explain things that weren't very clear for me about amps and speakers. They seemed to have a nice selection of jazz and blues LPs too not many but all new or in great condition. Will definitely come back!

Great service and great people. Rather than purchase from some online outlet, I brought my older turntable, which hadn't been used in years, into Planet of Sound in order to buy a new stylus. I'm awfully glad I did. That's because when they installed the stylus, only one channel was playing. Jamie spent about 45 minutes troubleshooting the problem and eventually found the solution. They didn't charge me a cent for the service. It's so refreshing to visit a store where the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help. My thanks to Jamie and Michael. They're a reminder of why bricks -and-mortar stores with good staff are often a better way to shop than online.

I have been a music lover and an audiophile for a very long time and I can say that this is probably my favourite audio shop. The owners and amazing staff are clearly music lovers first and have a musical ear, but they are also passionate about great audio too. They are always very helpful, and they never pressure you or give you high end audio store "attitude". The staff at Planet of Sound will work within your budget so you don't have to be rich to hear good music or audio reproduction. And if you are looking for a great place to buy some vinyl, then go check out their record bins. I recommend this place to all my friends!

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. They helped test some old speakers that I had at home, and helped me choose a wonderful new stereo. Even better, they were very patient with my questions in getting everything set up and connected at home.
