Reviews
Place d’Armes station is in a fantastic location, perfectly positioned between Chinatown and the Old Port — making it a convenient hub for exploring some of Montreal’s most iconic neighborhoods. The station is connected to a few handy spots, including coffee shops and even a Burger King, which makes grabbing a quick bite or warming up with a drink easy.nnHowever, the station’s popularity comes with drawbacks. The high foot traffic, especially in winter, makes it tough for staff to keep things clean. Salt, slush, and grime tend to pile up, and it sometimes feels like the cleaning schedule just can’t keep up with the crowds.nnStill, the unbeatable location and attached amenities make Place d’Armes a practical stop, even if it could use a little more attention to maintenance during the colder months
Note that the only no-step entrance is from the outside from Rue Saint-Urbain. Elevators for each platform are located on the far southwest end with separate turnstiles. The inside connection to the convention center has lots of steps.
Convenient station connected to the underground city and the convention center. You have to be careful about where you scan your card, cause every entrance leads to a different direction.
Instructions are in french but end stations are clearly marked. Ticket machines has an option for english. They also have a ticket booth. Subway is cleaner compared to NYC and Philadelphia
You have to be careful before you scan your card, that you are going in the right direction. This seems to be the only station where you cant change platforms after passing through the gates.
