Wow. Great pizza. We tried multiple pizzas, the argyle steak, bank mushroom, and Queen Elizabeth pizzas. Their crusts were bubly, thin, and soft on the inside with a crunch on the outside. Great sauces on all. My favorite was the bank mushroom, definitely give it a try. I did not try the chick pea salad but people with me did and said it was amazing.
Visited Ottawa last week and I had to give this place a shot. I ordered the sausage-arugula and the pizza was good and well prepared, but I just found myself not loving the flavors in the tomato sauce or dough, something was maybe too sweet? Not sure, but it wasn't an issue with quality or service, in many ways it was so fresh and different, and many others seem to love it here! If I'm back in the area, I'll try one of the white sauce or specialty pizzas. Giant chocolate cookies were very good. I could've used them a bit sweeterironically but they were soft, balanced, and delicious - make sure you get yourself one of these things!
Pizza Nerds is very good pizza. The staff is friendly. The pricing is fair considering the pricing. I found the pepperoni pizza pretty but not exceptional, but the Queen Elizabeth - Goat Cheese Pizza with basil, tomato, local and goat cheese, and spicy honey is so so good. I randomly think about it all the time. I’ll be working and suddenly the Queen Elizabeth comes to mind.
Simply some of the best pizza I’ve found in Ottawa to far! We ordered the Bank a creamy, flavourful mushroom pizza which we added sausage to and the Maclaren fresh mix of goat cheese, apple, prosciutto and balsamic drizzle. Both pizzas came had a perfect crispy & darkened Neapolitan crust with a welcome note of fermentation from its 2-day rest. Also, my friend someone constantly looking for allergy-accommodating gluten-free crust and I were both blown away by their gluten-free! Service and atmosphere also lived up to its full potential- a window seat gives you a lively view of Bank from understated but elegant tables. Perfect for after-work eats or a weeknight date spot. Coming back for sure!
Easy five star. The quality and taste is up there. They make their pizzas thing more like European style. If you d enjoy high quality you will like this. If you are looking to feed a family you might want to grab a few.
This is a hybrid of neopolitan/newyork style pizza. Interesting menu but I was bit disappointed that they didn't have classic margarita pizza. We ordered the frank 'deluxe', lyon-nerd, and rotating pizza. All flavors were delicious and unique in it's own way. They carry quite a few options for local drinks as well. Only one size pizza is available I think around 10-12 inches there were four of us and three pizza was plenty but no leftovers.
Loved our experience at Pizza Nerds! We shared the Bank pizza and it was incredible. The crust was perfect- not too thin or too thick. The flavours were outstanding. The service was farm and friendly and we really enjoyed the cozy, laidback environment. Can’t wait to go back!
First Impression: Pizza nerds is a hip spot located on bank street. They have relaxed ambience which is perfect for a night out with friends/family or a casual date. The servers are very kind and knowledgeable about gluten allergies. Their menu has a wide selection of unique pizzas. All pizzas can be made on gluten free. I ended up trying the Arlignton donair pizza Local cheese with fresh tomato and onion, sliced beef donair and donair sauce and the queen Elizabeth Basil, tomato, local and goat cheese, and spicy honey. Both tasted delicious, unique and were topped with high quality ingredients. Favorite/s: I personally really enjoyed the Queen Elizabeth. It was full of flavor, had the right amount of sauce and the cheese combination went very well together. The spicy honey was not over barring and had just a tiny hint of sweetness. In addition, although the dough was made from cauliflower it tasted like authentic pizza crust which is hard to find! Critique/s: They do not have any gluten free desserts on the menu! Bonus: If you love hot sauce like me, they make their own in-house chili garlic dip which is delicious! Take away: If you’re gluten free and love pizza then this spot is a must try! I know I will defiantly be returning to try some more of their unique/progressive options.
Well that was all kinds of awesome! We met with new friends and were lucky enough to get the big "mobster meetup" seat in the back of the restaurant. Friendly and casual greeting from the "Gritty" dude. The menu has a local theme which is very cool and also delicious. Lovely atmosphere, great place to meet with friends. You can't fail with any of the menu choices.
Stopped by after a trip to the Nature museum and we were not disappointed. Quite possibly the best pizza in the city. You gotta try their chili garlic and Donair dipping sauces, they were absolutely to die for. We'll be back!!
