Great campground, close to city, and yet outside. We stayed in the RV park at the top, 50amp service, open sky's so our satellite dish worked good, water pressure was hi, good water, all pull through sites in this area. Garbage collection right in front of each site. Trails for walking lead to lakes to walk around. WiFi was excellent here. Restroom was clean, hot water for shower's no charge. Laundry rooms clean, and not too expensive. Small store here, operated by campground, offers beer and small amount of goods.
Well organized and maintained campground. Many sites are rather narrow so if you're in the treed area expect to be a little squished if you have slide outs. The roads are pretty narrow and are curbed so if you have a bigger rig it may be slightly tight. The treed sites are fairly private, but the open area has no privacy at all. The location is what makes this a great campground. You are literally 10 minutes from anywhere in St. John's.
Not all camping sites were neat, but still better and there were nice big shelters including electric plugs facility. It was very near to city area.
Big campground good for those with all size trailers. Had a problem as soon as we got there. Our site assigned to us was way too narrow for us with a slide. We called and they gave us 2 more sites to try, one on a massive hill and the other we never saw because we chose our own and called them with the site #. They said no problem and we could stay in the site we found. Roads are narrow. Treed sites have good privacy. The giant motor home pull thru sites are not private and are in a field. It's very close to St.Johns waterfront Harbour, shops and restaurants. Would stay there again.
All season are great at the park. Winter activities starts during the first week of January with snow shoes and cross country ski rentals at North Bank Lodge. Look for opening hours because they are not open every day. Free access to groomed ski trails. Lots of parking space. During the summertime it's a trailer and camping grounds with free access to pedestrians and bicycles. Wonderful trails all year-round.
Great place. Mature trees. 10-15 minutes from all the city St. John's has to offer.. 15 mins from city Mt. Pearl or towns of Paradise and CBS... $6 for visitors to your site if they drive in, but can park and walk in for free.. .I was considering the Golf Course here.. How ever I was told the greens need better care....So hope they can improve. .. Washrooms in each Loop. The water pressure is good. Wifi is at the entrance/laundry area or at sites 150 to 167 in loop 4. Playground: Basic Restrooms: Big..3 showers..wheelchair accessible shower Dog-friendliness: Lots walking places Picnic area: In camp site and open areas..large grassy areas..
I was disappointed because I had reserved way in advanced, requesting a tranquil corner because of our dog, and yet the site we got was minuscule and on a high traffic lane way. Staff was nice, facilities clean, but not enough toilets/stalls, especially for the men. I appreciated that the staff picked up garbage daily, however when we arrived our site was littered with cigarette butts, and also a big pile of used charcoal on one side. Oh, and no fire pit… Location is extremely convenient, and some of the sites looked awesome!
This is an excellent campground to visit and see St. John's. The bus stop is really close to get into downtown without driving. Some of the campsites are really private while others not so much.
There are many nice spots at this campground in the city but we sure didn’t receive one of them despite booking months in advance. Upon arrival they didn’t have the type of site we requested available so we were given the choice of a site that we didn’t fit on or a giant field with big RVs that would cost more due to the services available. Even the ‘included’ wifi didn’t really work. The location in the city is great and maybe you’ll get lucky with a site but not knowing that until you arrive makes this impossible to recommend.
Excellent location to camp in St Johns. Right in the middle of the city yet feels like it is in the country. A cab downtown is around $13 so no need to worry about driving if you plan to have a few beverages while strolling around the downtown area. So much to see in the area.
