About

Camping the Way You Remember!

Story

There are few pleasures as great as staring deep into a campfire, falling asleep under a sky full of shooting stars and waking to the smell of bacon sizzling in an iron skillet.

Like your first pocket knife with a fork and a spoon, Pinecreek is very close to the essence of camping, it’s the sweet bouquet of meadow grass and pine needles, campfire songs, ghost stories and the smell of smoke in your sweater.

Pinecreek is located in the rolling hills of upstate NY in the heart of Finger Lakes Wine Country. It’s a few miles South of Ithaca and the headwaters of crystal clear Cayuga Lake. Situated at the corner of Hines Road and Rockwell Road just off Route 327,Pinecreek'is neighbor to one of NY’s most beautiful State Parks – Robert H. Treman State Park and spectacular Enfield Glen.

My wife and I went to PineCreek for a off season trip. We stayed at site 16. We have a 17-TT and the site was absolutely huge and private. There wasn't much going on due to it being off season, but it turned out to be absolutely what we needed. Peace and quiet can be good sometimes. We drove to Ithaca to eat and saw some waterfalls in the area. I can't wait to return to PineCreek next year!

Cabins were perfect for my young family! Weather for pretty cool at night, my 2 kids under 3 stayed warm. Negatives: No grills, shower had terrible pressure, old playground but my kids LOVED it. Positives: short drive to Robert Treman Park, beautiful grounds, stocked fishing pond, well spaced campsites. Good for RV's

Excellent location, sites are huge, very quiet. I wasn't going to post a review of this campground, but after receiving a nasty message from the owner at our home after we left, I felt compelled.....We checked in and the drove to our site, we found the gravel road adjacent to our site had been dug up and hastily covered back up with dirt. I can only assume this was due to some sort of repair work being done. However this made the road very narrow and my truck did pass over this repaired dirt area. The grass on our site was atleast 5 inches long. It was evident that the person responsible for mowing the grass is only doing the bare minium. There was a low spot on our site of bare dirt. This was directly in front of the camper where I parked my truck. The campground during the week is a ghost town, there are no activities, the office is only open a few hours a day. The office is sparsely outfitted, no milk, no eggs, no bread. Even after seeing all of this, we were still having a good time. So now it rains...and rains and rains, and the dirt road I mentioned above is a muddy mess. The dirt low spot on our site is is a muddy mess, with a standing pool of water on our site. Even with the camp ground being a ghost town, the electrical power was deep in the red...Well I turned my truck trying to avoid the mud hole on our site and accidentally went into the field across the street. I did spin the tires and immediately stopped and put the truck into 4 wheel drive. I'm admitting there was some grass torn up. The grass in the field was longer then the grass on our site. We stayed an additional 2 days. There was nothing said to us, we checked out and left. Upon arriving home, received a nasty voicemail from a female, who I think was the owner. The voicemail was nasty and condescending. I did call the campground back and spoke to the woman who left the message. Who accused me of "intentionally" causing the grass damage .Ridiculus! If your wanting to stary close to the parks and Ithaca, you can not beat the location. But temper your expectations of the campground. Oh, on the website it lists a bar, club, meeting place....That building is now used as a some sort of garage sale, it is full of old cloths.
