For peaceful and quiet way of staycation with family, retiree, or even for a honeymoon. Experience the way of life back in 1960's. A place where you can enjoy both the beauty of lake and the nature. Trail and dog walking are popular in here. Quiet hours are between 11PM-7AM.
The campsites are spacious and private. Bathrooms are close anywhere you are. The beach is the nicest beach you can find anywhere around pigeon. The water was clear enough to swim confidently in mid August. I will definitely return although if tenting, bringing an inflatable mattress Is a must have because the campsites are quite rocky.
Treed campsites. Pretty big campground so expect it to be a more crowded one especially during the summer season and its distance fro Edmonton. Lake is also popular for swimming. Went there on a weekend and even if it is crowded, you will still have privacy on your campsite as it is surrounded with trees and bushy. Be careful in choosing campsites tho as some are way too close to walking trails and if you do end up with one of those, then you would see a lot of people passing by. Over all good campground and will definitely go back. Outhouses need some TLC though.
The campground is excellent! Last year swimming and the lake was clear and clean. This year, the beach is covered in dead white fish would have been a nice catch, if not rotting on the swimming beach. The water is full of green algae, making the water not swimmable. We were hoping for a week of lake time. Instead we’ve shortened our stay and heading home. No swimming, no lake time. It would have been nice to know this earlier so we aren’t charged a extra 100$ for cancelling early.
Nice size of sites, lots of trees to give you privacy. Great trails for a walk or run. Lake has quite a bit of algae but it is the end of summer. Will definitely be back
Camping spots big surrounded by trees and vegetation. Bathrooms really clean. Lots of trails.
Really wonderful campground, large private camping spots. Nice and quiet. Close to Edmonton and Red Deer, perfect for a quick getaway.
Impeccably organized provincial park system within Alberta. Clean facilities, walking paths, and a beautiful lake. Pigeon Lake PP is seasonally closed to tent and comfort camping, but they have one loop that is open in the winter for RV’s. These sites are first come first serve and fill up quickly. They are 15/30 amps. Washroom facilities, animal safe garbage bins, and benches can be found throughout the park. There are day use areas as well. I would recommend coming here for an enjoyable day.
Fantastic for family camping and day trips. The area is well patrolled and the shenanigans are kept in check. The parks people often have family friendly events going on in the day use area. The campground is well maintained and most of the sites are large enough to accommodate the bigger units while still providing ample privacy,
Nice park. The day use area is well maintained with easy access to a small beach. Very nice area to have a picnic and some fresh air and away from the hustle and bustle.
