Story

Pier 701 Restaurant and Bar is located in the heart of Piermont New York. It is a modern Mediterranean inspired waterfront restaurant with a beautiful panoramic view of the Hudson Valley. We are Rockland County's largest selection of seafood, with the best views in town. Our boat dock is conveniently located across from our famous outdoor Tiki Bar. Pier 701 is your premier destination for our seasonal al fresco dining.

Piermont Banquet Hall
With seating for 300 people, its no wonder Pier 701 is your go-to destination for on the water dining. Our dining rooms are available for wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate meetings, rehearsal dinners, baby/bridal showers, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Cocktail Parties,etc. We also cater to private intimate affairs, on our Pier 701 Beach or in one of our finely appointed dining rooms.

I'd like to score closer to 3.5 but a 3 will have to do. Came for dinner with a large group and we found some of the items to be either a hit or a miss. For appetizers, the mussels in wine sauce were excellent and so were the squash ravioli. Not a fan of the grilled octopus as it was slimy and texture seemed off. For entrees, the grilled skirt steak was alright but the mixed vegetables side it came with were soggy and flavorless (likely frozen). The braised beef short rib, which was not as tender as I would have liked, was delicious and so was the cheesy polenta but the dish seemed to be lacking a bit of sweetness: perhaps a side sauce/reduction? Our server gets 5 stars as she was quick and attentive. I may return in summer when the outside area is open. The location does have a beautiful view.

Very nice view. Highly recommend! Romantic and chill. Food quality was good. Great music. Perfect place for those who want to escape from the rush of the city.

Terrible place to go to especially for families. Rude and customer unfriendly management. Poor service and below average food quality.

I was there for a wedding reception. Room layout was less than ideal for the occasion. DJ and dance floor was in an entirely separate room from the reception. The "DJ room" had brick walls, hardwood floor and pressed tin ceiling - all hard surfaces. Made it musically a little rough, but I guess that says I'm old. Service at the reception was excruciatingly slow. They poured champagne for the toasts before taking the orders. Took forever for the orders to be filled. By the time we got to the toasts, the champagne was warm and more than a little flat. Dinner was good enough, though I'd have liked my steak rarer. Be sure you have a great map or a GPS as the location is not close to the main road. I got there by Uber from Tarrytown and the driver spoke enthusiastically about the restaurant. Maybe they just aren't skilled at big receptions?

Our male waiter wasn't too attentive, he mentioned that he had eight other tables he was working on. He seemed very flustered and definitely didn't want to be there today. Fortunately for the women waitresses / helpers they made our date a little more smoother. It seemed our bill came out a lot higher then what the price was on the menu, as well as I mentioned to the waiter that my glass was chipped, he didn't really seem to care too much. I'd have to think about it 2 or 3 times before I visit the place again, the view was great though
