The restaurant has an identity crisis—the signs say Oscar’s but the menu and wine list are from its predecessor, Milano’s. Not sure why the Journal News loves this place—it covers no new ground and in fact is more a throwback to the past of mediocre “Italian” restaurants in this county. As the table next to us noted, you are greeted at the table with bread, bread and bread—a bread basket (had to ask for olive oil), a bruschetta with insipid looking tomatoes on it and a kind of pita with cream chees filling, not ricotta. We were encouraged by the appetizer special of stuffed squash blossoms but they arrived leadened and soggy, and unseasoned, accompanied by an equally unseasoned “marinara” that looked and tasted canned. My wife made the safest and best choice of the night—a lobster/avocado salad. I experimented with the Grand Marnier salmon. While the salmon was good quality and perfectly cooked, it too was not seasoned at all. The sauce was cloyingly sweet and not nuanced. Worse, the plate was garnished(?) with dried cranberries that only added to the sweetness and made the plate look like it had a bad case of acne! The accompanying capellini with garlic and oil was crammed into such a small bowl that it became an inseparable tangle of dry pasta. And, please, aren’t we way past the days of “no name” wines by the glass? Filling the glass to the top doesn’t compensate for mediocre wine. Even Holiday Inns offer Kendall Jackson by the glass. In the spirit of Halloween they should put a tombstone outside that reads, “Fake Italian. R.I.P.” Oh well, back to Marcello’s for consistently high quality, authentic Italian for the same price.

I came to the restaurant with two other companions. The restuarnt has nice Decor. The service was good and the food was fresh and delicious. We ordered the price fixed dinners which included two salads and a soup. The salads were good but a tiny bit overdressed. The type of soup was spinach and egg which I did not enjoy. The chicken parm was good and so was the cavatelli. the price fix also comes with dessert and drinks. It was a good meal. If you are in the area I would advise you to try this restaurant. That is why I gave it 4/5 stars.

Very attentive staff, lovely menu, food is okay. I had a pesto dish with super spicy shrimp that was inedible. They redid the shrimp but it was a very weak pesto sauce. The wait staff was terrific and it almost felt like they were friendsl Nice selection of desserts. Good value.

This place is incredible. The restaurant is in a small strip mall, and it is very unassuming from the outside. When you walk inside you are treated to a fine restaurant with a professional staff that will take very good care of you. The food is First class. If you are ever in the area visit them and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Milano is one of my favorite restaurants. Food is always great. Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. This place is a gem!
