Stunning tasting menu!! We absolutely loved our dinner at Pidgin as have wanted to go for years! It's incredibly impressive that the menu changes every week as every bite was a delight. The ambiance is excellent as it felt very intimate and cozy. Service was also brilliant, our waitress explained all the dishes beautifully. Can't wait to go again and try out a new menu on another week!
Local gem with weekly changing menu. Set menu only. Each dish is small so I did leave a little hungry, but that also might be as some were so tasty and I greedily wanted more of it. Service was good. Good for small groups or date night.
It was our first time at the restaurant, but definitely not the last one. Amazing food and wine pairing experience! Highly recommended.
Gastronomic creativity at its very best. Each dish is an experiment, sometimes works like heaven, sometimes it lacks something but every time it takes you on a journey of discovery, always surprising you. The bread is simply exceptional, and the chicken liver parfait that goes with it is so light. The cheese mousse desert is so unique and tasty! We also really enjoyed the crumble with the amaretto mousse, so delicious and fresh. The whole meal was like a summery walk in a park. Our only tiny negative was on the truffle shaved chicken and cabbage which needed a twist or a sauce, but as mentioned this is all part of experimentation and the daily menus that constantly adapt. Thank you Pidgin!!!
Fantastically creative menu with total attention to detail! Every dish had something special going on, with ingredients that I found harmonised within and throughout courses. There are very talented chefs here, and our waiters were friendly and helpful. I was possibly expecting Pidgin to be over-hyped but I was proven wrong. Definitely worth a visit.
Super good tasting menu be warned the wine pairing and wine list is only natural wines so not up everyone's street - great vegetarian option too, was just as good if not better than the omnivore menu.
A few months ago I had dinner at Pidgin and was really disappointed with some bland and really odd dishes, and teensy tiny portions. I contacted the restaurant to let them know we had had a bad experience and they invited me back to try again and have a better experience. We picked a new date at random and last night had an amazing meal. Highlights were an artichoke dish that might be one of the best things I've ever eaten, and roast beetroot that pleased my beetroot hating partner! We had the wine pairing and the wines were all beautiful, we even asked to take a picture of the bottle of one of them as it was so delicious. The team were so welcoming and accommodating and I'd recommend going and if you're not happy just speak to the team. Only thing I would caveat is that this is not a restaurant to go and eat the classics, some dishes are experimental but you're going here to try something brand new!
What an incredible place to enjoy your evening. The tasting menu was incredible and the wine pairing was a must. A great atmosphere in a small charming restaurant. The service was great and the food was fantastic. How this place isn’t Michelin star I don’t know. Even more impressive is how often the change their tasting menu. Will definitely return and would recommend to anybody
The food was good but some delicate flavours were buried under stronger tasting sauces. It would be good to have a small bread basket to pick up some of the sauces. We only got a table for 9:30 pm, which unfortunately required to have some food earlier as not to be starving on arrival. The restaurant is crammed, which does not allow for a relaxed atmosphere. Altogether a good experience and not overly pricey.
Treated my boyfriend to the set menu, it was wonderful. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely. The set menu was very interesting, we loved most of the dishes, the first partridge dish however was a little underwhelming but the second one was perfection, and all the other dishes were delicious. The homemade bread and garlic butter I could have had 10 portions it was so good and wow the Asian inspired chai dessert was hands down my favourite, I would go back just for that. All in all, a must try set menu experience.
