This is a neat little deli in downtown Idaho Falls. I came in with my wife on a sunny Thursday afternoon. The lunch time crowd was minimal. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with a pickle. I also ordered a box of water. Make sure you shake the box of water before you open it as the dihydrogen tends to settle at the bottom. The grilled cheese sandwich is actually a half sandwich. It came with a pickle. The cheese in the sandwich is very good. And the sourdough was crispy and buttery. This grilled cheese sandwich will not fill you up, but it will hit the spot. Give it a try if you want to have a smaller lunch to tide you over until dinner.
For as fast as the food came out the quality exceeded way beyond my expectations. I ordered the Corned Beef Ruben and it was loaded with flavor. The meat was perfectly tender. Definitely filled me up when most sandwiches don’t. The pickle that came with my sandwich was amazing. I’ve never had a pickle with such flavor before. They are definitely living up to the name. This isn’t a fast food restaurant so don’t expect food instantly. It wasn’t busy at all when I went in and it took 5 minutes. I’m assuming it’ll be longer during a lunch rush. All seems normal to me. Im noticing some quality control issues in other reviews. I’m sure with time quality control will be worked out. This place is brand new so that’s expected.
I ordered the Cubano and hubby ordered the brisket. We wanted pastrami but there was a sign saying it wouldn’t be ready for a few days Overall the meats were tender, but really lacked flavor. I had to salt my meat in my sandwich after I tried it. Our meals came with pickles. The pickles were just okay and not like the ones I remember from NYC. There is no direction by the staff as to where you order, nor was there any greeting upon entry into the restaurant. Just a bunch of menus sitting on the counter when you walk in. We ordered ice water with our meals and we were charged an additional $2. That seemed ridiculous for tap water.
So far so good ... staff was helpful in guiding my order.. Pastrami with drink and cannoli is where we landed. Came with small side of pickles... I got the sweet which are supposedly house made... they were decent... ** can also get sour garlic or 1/2 sour that are shipped in from NY Drink straw is a paper straw for those that are looking for that sort of thing. All-in-all it is a good sandwich... can’t speak to NY authentic... but it is good.. Has a swipe of yellow mustard which is complementing the sandwich well.. I will likely be back to try out some of the other items.
First time here and we are IMPRESSED!! Reminds me of our visit to the east coast. Tender meat, generous portions, and well worth your money! Friendly staff and wonderful Ginger Beer from a mom and pop shop in Michigan. Highly recommend and will be back!! We got pastrami, corned beef, brisket, carrot cake, potato salad, and pickles. Also, eco friendly! #supportlocalbiz
I tried the cubano and my husband had the Italian sandwich. Both were delicious. We shared an order of potatoes latkes and a hand-crafted rootbeer. Both were also delicious. I had the sour garlic pickle and it was so tasty! I wish it had been bigger! It felt a little expensive for sandwiches, but the tastiness and the sides made it worth it. Will definitely be going back and we hope they stick around for a long long time.
Wonderful staff. Great food. I really enjoyed the Brisket sandwich. To be honest, I don't remember the other sandwich that I got, but I loved it as well. I'll do a better job of recording next time. 3 days later, I'm back. Since the earlier photos of the menu were not posted, I am posting them again. This time I picked up the following sandwiches: Pastrami, Corned Beef, Reuben, Brisket, a Bid Dog, and a Chicken Salad. I prefer the Sour Garlic Pickles. As you can see, I have an addiction to this place. I added the potato salad and coleslaw this time both were excellent and rounded if off with a cheesecake. I like the fact that the doors are always open a few minutes before their start time and that the staff is always very friendly.
The best sandwich I've had in years. The sourdough bread has a perfect flavor, and meat had a rich flavor. The rootbeer is definitely worth the price. The whole place is well laid out, and very clean. Highly recommend.
What a treat to eat here! Great service owner is very invested in quality and service. We decided to stop in Idaho Falls for a bite to eat and to check out the town. Our best part was eating lunch here. Ordered the turkey sourdough, Brisket Sandwich packed full of meat, salad super fresh, Minestrone Soup WOW. We wanted some of their potato salad but they were sold out owner bought a little that was left and we were glad he did because it was so good no wonder they sold out. Everything even the drinks root beer and ginger ale were all fresh and delicious. Wish we could bring this back to Cali with us.
Just made it here for the first time and every person in the place made a point to have a conversation with us. Sat down with my corned beef sandwich and one bite transported me right back to NY. It is the best sandwich I have had in Idaho Falls. Will be going back for sure!
