Used to be a regular @ Pho Vistro in downtown. I used to go 3 times a week for the salad pho when I used to work nearby. I was happy when I found that they moved to Avenue still far but I make an excuse to go there. They seemed to have improved the consistency of food. I'd go every other day if it was close to my place. Tip: it tastes better w sriracha and hoisin sauce
Maybe it had something to do with the frigid temperatures, but the classic beef pho $11.50 was tastier than I remember: the broth richer and more seasoned. Compared to other establishments, it certainly tastes healthier. The soup doesn’t merely rely on bone broth, rather also contains star anise and cinnamon that gives off such a lovely aroma. The soup is so flavourful that I didn’t even need siracha sauce; after using a small dollop at the start, I refrained from adding more as I found took away from the broth’s natural flavours. Their beef is also leaner. A combination of brisket and rib-eye round, the brisket goes really well with the noodles but the round is shaved so thinly that it breaks apart and tastes grainy, especially when you near to bottom half of the bowl the granules in the soup is a bit off putting. In the future, I’ll have to remember to ask if I can only get brisket. Another ingredient that will take some getting used to, is the spindly Ontario bean sprouts. Whereas sprouts in other restaurants are added for a textual element, these lack crunch and taste a lot like alfalfa sprouts giving a slightly bitter grassiness to the pho. The fried chicken spring rolls $5.50 contained a lot of colourful thinly grated vegetables but minimal chicken. The lack of meat isn’t a problem for me, but the addition of mung beans gave the otherwise delicious roll a slightly mushy and coarse texture that you don’t normally expect when biting into a spring roll. Be warned.
Had high hopes for this place but unfortunately left very disappointed. Only positives were the decor look nice, person taking my order was nice and the soup tasted good. We ordered the following - Pho V Express + Salad Pho + Chicken Wings. Negatives - extremely tiny portions The Pho V Express had 1 piece of chicken, 1 brisket and 1 beef. They were all very small. The salad pho noodles were all breaking up when we were mixing it. The chicken wings were OK. I felt the price was high for what we received.
I personally enjoyed this pho place. I've been to a few pho places in Toronto and I would say that this one is the most vegan friendly and all together health oriented place. At the time of writing this review, they only have been open for about a month. Here is what I've learned about this new place: • They have a location in downtown, so this is their second location. • At this time, the menu is completely NUT FREE and, as I mentioned earlier, very vegan friendly. • The owner, Emily, is allergic to MSG, so she mentioned using only organic products. I, personally, ordered the vegan "Classic" pho and enjoyed the taste. A friend ordered the beef "Classic" and said it tasted not as rich than other places. I tried it myself and also noticed that it's a bit on the lean side. Overall - great experience and will be back to try other dishes they have on the menu. The only bummer for me - no peanut sauce to come with the spring rolls. But the alternative was pretty good as well.
Natural healthy food which is light on your stomach. This is one of the many restaurants on avenue road and I had come across this many times during my evening walk. I liked the way they have nice pots outside with vegetables and salad for decoration, which made me want to go visit once. They have some vegetarian options, which I needed. I order roles and salad, which had broth on the side. What was specially pleasing was the ambiance of the place. The way it was decorated, made me feel very cozy. Also there were pictures of customers near the exit, displaying their empty pho bowls like a winner trophy. Good place to go if you want to not feel stuffed after your food because the food is filling but not heavy and they mention that their food used fresh and natural ingredients. And btw, the complimentary mini desert of dried strawberry and coconut was a new experience for me. Go, try it out.
Found this place on Google maps and decided to give it a try. Nice and elegant interior, the food is delicious and the service was great. I will come back again when I'm in the area. I had the "classic beef pho".
Food was good and fresh. Pho had a very clean taste to it. They had a few items that were fusion and interesting.
I've spent my almost 2 years in toronto finding the perfect pho.. well here it is !! There wasn't thick layers of oil, the broth tasted really fresh and perfectly seasoned, the meat was SO tender and so good. Spring rolls were delicious, I got the chicken as it was suggested. Thanks so much for making delicious hot food for us during covid
Amazing to have Pho with locally sourced organic meat & produce w no MSG in such a mindfully put together spot!
I used Ritual app when I ordered pho. Staff was friendly and kind. Even though, It's chose to go, food was also nice. I like it.
