Probably would have been an awesome experience, unfortunately on the website it is said that it opens at 4 on Thursdays and we showed up at around 6:15 and tried to get in and all of the doors were locked, the lights were on and people were inside and no one answered the door, we tried to call 2 times and no one answered, worst part was we drove an hour and a half to get there .

I went to Perplexcity with friends on Saturday evening, we thought we would try something different. Upon arrival we were seated at a table and ordered some food, drinks and cards. We also have an escape room booked for later on. The cards given were very well worn and missing many cards of our euchre deck, upon going through many decks with the bartender we were able to make a full deck and go and start playing our game. When drinks arrived our server was very awkward to say the least. She needed us to grab our food and drinks off her serving tray as she was unable to pass and hold them at the same time. Other than being very awkward she was very nice. We received our appetizers and food, all the food served was deep fried or pan fried and a very cafeteria style. Not very good for the price or type of establishment. The biggest disappointment of my night was escape room, I went to the escape room with much anticipation and excitement. Upon entering it looks really cool and interesting, we immediately start looking for clues and objects to figure this room out. Upon closer look I realized that many objects in our room were very worn and broken in many cases, I opened a door that wasn't supposed to be opened that led us into a different area of the room due to the magnet lock malfunctioning. At one point in the game we had called for clues on a certain lock on two occasions, when finally realizing that the lock was broken and we had the right code for over ten minutes. The room master came in and told us the lock was broken and we continued onto the next room but by this time with only a few minutes left because of all of the time wasted we never completed our room. I felt very cheated out of over 15 minutes, I felt like our room master should have given us extra time to make up for time lost or something should have been done to make what happened fair. The whole operation in my opinion is poorly ran. The establishment has so much potential, having lots of space and a good concept. But I feel that untrained or improper staff, old and poorly maintained equipment, and very bad food options will make this business a failure. I will not be returning to this establishment, and in the future will look elsewhere for escape room experiences.

Horrible, horrible experience!!!!! I booked 2 escape rooms at Barrie Perplexcity back in December for my husband's 40th birthday, one month before the event date. I sent an email to find out about best practice for booking for a large group and was instructed to book online. I did so and my credit card was charged at the time of booking. We arrived at our scheduled time yesterday with 16 people to find the lights out, the doors locked and the establishment seemingly out of business. We have not received any notification from the owners, nor did we receive a refund of our booking fees. I definitely should have checked the google reviews on this establishment before booking!

Booked for a birthday party weeks earlier and when we arrived they were closed. They didn't even contact us! Had to reverse the charges on our credit card.

We really liked a pirate themed escape room, almost made it out! Will be back for more exciting adventures.
There are also sitting tables, a bar and arkade games for extra entertainment.
