Visit: March 2025nnA great grocery store with a nice selection of hot foods for a great value. Will definitely be coming back here for the food and for groceries when I make things like birria tacos! Highly recommend! They also had a tasting for hot sauces with chips and chorizo which was amazing!
Great south and Central American food store with some Caribbean influences. This is a good size grocery store with a fresh food restaurant and some seating. The store is clean and well lit. There is adequate parking and easy access to the store. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and will visit this location or the one on 118 ave again.
Such a gem! Great inventory of Latin American groceries and an outstanding hot counter. The empanadas were phenomenal and a huge hit with everyone. 10/10 recommendation!
I bought what used to be Colombian tamales last week at Paraiso Tropical and was ready to enjoy them today for breakfast. To my surprise, they were not the usual Colombian tamales they used to carry. After 45 minutes on the stove, I served them and the pork was completely raw! I checked the new mucho gusto! label and found out they now come raw and you have to cook them for 3 hours! On top of that, they are made with Maseca. So, let's not talk about the flavor.. just some dough with hard pork ribs... nothing even clos to a Colombian tamale. Very disappointing. Maybe this is Paraiso's fusion version of Colombian and Mexican/Central American of tamales??? If it is, not good at all! Don't waste your money, I surely won't again.
Amazing experience! The food is incredibly tasty, very authentic flavors. The staff is warm, welcoming, and always attentive. Will definitely come back!
