Papa Spicy

How does one call this braised pork? Is should be called minced pork. Not terribly impressed. Very salty. Mouth starting to feel numb. I was really hoping for some really good Asian food. Not found here. Very unfortunate. Will not go back. Sorry, but nope. Update: first time I ever walked 5 blocks back to a restaurant to return the food.

Avoid this place if you don’t want to waste your money and get high blood pressure! Eating too much salt will not be good for your body! Everything was extremely salty! The only thing I can eat from this rice dish was the vegetable because it was not seasoned. What even worse was the mince meat was super numb. I love spicy food but I can’t eat numb food, and there was not an opinion for numb level. I remember the noodle with mince meat last time I ordered was also super numb and I can’t even eat the noodle itself because the noodle has touched the sauce. The cold dish was too salty I couldn’t eat it at all even with the rice, so as the food in spicy soup. BBQ skewers have a weird spiced taste, definitely not from the cumin seed. I like spiced food but the spice on the skewers were disgusting. The only time I can’t find anything eatable in the order to eat. I guess I have to wash everything then cook them again with other food, otherwise I have to waste everything due to the how salty they are. I ordered from this restaurant a few times. Every time I tried to avoid the awful dish I ordered last time, so eventually I realized every dish here is just so disappointing. I didn’t review for the last few times, but today I just can’t handle it anymore.

When they say spicy house, they really mean spicy house. I got the spicy dry noodles with pork and vegetables. As someone who is casual with spiciness, I can feel the heat but the taste is worth the burn. However, I also got the beef skewers and those are on a whole different level. If you like Asian spicy food, this place is worth visiting. If you cannot handle spicy food, you have been warned. A friend of mine got the lamb skewers and I felt they were not as spicy as the beef skewers. And the price is very reasonable for the food. Definitely recommend.

I first went to Spicy House at the end of October after an exhausting search for a restaurant that sold dry noodles and ordered the dry noodles with spicy chicken and vegetables. I loved it, and insisted that my girlfriend try it so we went today. When we sat down the waitress brought us each a glass of hot tea which was delightful after trekking through the ByWard Market. We ended up ordering the same thing I had the first time I tried it and it was exactly how I remembered it. The portions are huge as well and both times I got a takeout container to enjoy the leftovers at home.

Not bad at all. The food is not impressive but definitely authentic enough to be compared to any similar restaurants in China. I also like their style. I personally love spicy food and I find their food spicy and satisfying. Will definitely come again to try out more options. Service is also pretty good.

Such amazing soups and dishes! Super authentic tastes and just overall amazing and just so much great flavours!! Friendly staff, parking in front and in a great location for a walk afterwards!! Enjoy everyone! I’d highly suggest if you like good soup or spicy foods too!!

I would give it a 3.5 if I could. The place wasn't very busy. Service was average. Prepared dish made with shredded chicken was tasty by a bit too salty. Unfortunelty the menu needs work, very confusing, nothing to do with the printed language just confusing.

Tried the zamian noodles, and was good to me, and replicate typical taste of spiciest region of china like chongqing. Price reasonable, good service. Restaurant maybe lack a bit of decoration and ambience.

Soup is too salty and lacking complexity in flavor for the price. I gave it 4-star because there was a lot of meat in the noodle soup.

Spicy, delicious, great service. I hope they will get licensed soon, cold beer with this would be great!
