I usually love Panera, but I was pretty disappointed in their new “chef’s” chicken sandwich. First off…. Panera has always had great salads, soups & sandwiches, why do they keep adding menu items to fit in with the rest of the fast good crowd? I was kinda surprised to see them jump into the chicken sandwich war… they should have stayed out if it! The sandwich I ate yesterday was probably the worst chicken sandwich in the market. The bun was way too big for the dried out piece of chicken, fried pickles were a few small crumbles, spicy sauce was was almost unnoticeable. I was really disappointed. I guess I should stick with the soups & salads like I usually go Panera to eat. Or maybe Panera should stick with what they do best and forget about trying do it all.
We went here to use our Sips Club. Their coffee is pretty good. Their Almond milk is pretty good and doesn't taste sweet. My daughter got a regular iced coffee with half and half and sugar. I believe most places have a sugar syrup for the iced coffee.....not here. They are opening mini packs of sugar and dumping it into your cup. 1. Seems a bit touch-ie for this pandemic world and 2. It doesn't melt quickly in cold coffee so you have to pull over and take time to mix it up. That can be messy and time consuming if you're running late. We also got a chocolate croissant which was super bad and outrageously priced.
Nice clean store, decent service. I'm removing my rant about the god-awful Asian Chicken Salad cilantro, tons of it. But this and most other Paneras will gladly make it for you with no cilantro. This place is my default hangout when I drop someone off for a medical appointment down the road. Great atmosphere.
My mom and I meet for lunch every Friday. During Autumn Squash Soup season, we always go to Panera. This Friday 10/14/2022 we left Panera on Sherman Blvd. in Muskegon, MI without being waited on. Several points: * The cashier that works every Friday at lunch is about the rudest cashier at Panera. She never greets you, never smiles, never wishes you a good day. She stares at you until you order, say your total, and gives you the buzzer. That's it. I joke to my mom that she's Panera's "ray of sunshine." Not a deal breaker, but certainly contributes to us passing on the "add a tip" screen. * On Friday, 10/14, just before noon, we arrived for our traditional lunch. The ray of sunshine was preparing a bagel. She's busy, I get it. But, she looked right at us, picked up the bagel and then walked off. No greeting, no, "I'll be right with you." * A second employee walked right past us at the register and straight into the kitchen. No, greeting. No, "someone will be right with you." * A third employee walked out of the kitchen, stood 2 feet from us and facing us for about a minute, actively not making eye contact. My mom stared at her. She walked off into the dining room. Did not acknowledge us. Did not let us know that someone will be with us. *A fourth employee, walked past us into the kitchen, then walked past us out into the right side where the food is served. Again, no greeting, no acknowledgement that we are standing right at the register waiting. *I don't mind waiting. I understand when businesses are busy and am usually very happy to wait patiently for my turn. What I cannot stand is to have 4 FOUR employees walk past me, look at me, and NOT Acknowledge me. Unacceptable. *We went across the street to Subway. There was a line, but as soon as we walked in the door, the sandwich artist greeted us and assured us someone will help us in a moment. Subway has better customer service than Panera. Wow.
Worst latte I ever had. Like drinking warm skim milk!! Will never go there again. So glad it was on a gift card. Otherwise Waste of money!!
Ny son bought sandwiches, soup and chips for me, my and himself. It killed $5 to learn why it's called Panera BREAD. My sandwich waa a loaf of bread with paper thin steak and cheese in the middle. My soup was "homemade" chicken noodle with one small chunk of chicken in it. He had the same. My wife got an equally disappointing turkey sandwich. The neighborhood birds got alot of bread which definitely wasn't soft!! At leasr the bag of chips actually had chips in it. We always wanted to try Panera for a change from pizza and burgers. The experience was very disappointing. I was going to send an email rather than a public review but it wouldn't go through. BTW: This was at the Sherman location in muskegon and I forgot to mention that my wife said that as they were waiting at the counter the staff was too busy laughing, giggling and goofing around though one girl did apologie for the wait.
The new chicken sandwich was awful. It was dry like hay, and as tasteless as a piece of chalk, all for $11.00. A complete rip off for what you get. One sandwich for that amount of money, and no flavor at all was a complete waste. Never again.
People are good food is great the only thing is the price is high and the side of bread is rock hard on the outside. Overall a good place for lunch, but expect to spend 10-12 on a cup of soup and half a sandwich. Broccolli cheese soup is delicious.
The pasta in my macaroni and cheese was overcooked and the bread was dry. I feel the prices are high for what you get. Given a choice I won't return.
Broccoli cheddar bowl never disappoints. However, the ten dollar spicy chicken sandwich isn't worth the price. It needs lettuce, tomatoe, and more to it. Please look into this and we will give it another shot!
