Friendliest service in town made the meal standout. Everything from schnitzels to strudels is made and served with TLC. Shout out to Lisa for making us feel welcomed and a part of the family.
This is exactly what you want to bring you back to Germany. The restaurant is beautifully designed and has memorabilia and art work all in the interior. Food is excellent and is a good portion all while being served by the extremely hospitable family who owns it. They have pastries upfront to buy upfront made by Anita. We don’t have many places like this left, go and enjoy. Parking can be a problem but look around and you will find something
The most authentic and cozy German restaurant in Portland! I highly recommend trying any of their schnitzels, they’re fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming back again sometime!
The service and food are excellent. I always have a hard time deciding what to get. They have a huge assortment of pastries and baked goods up front to take to go.
Surprising spot tucked away on a triangular block. Basement location that you could miss. Wasn't greeted on entry, but assume that staff is multitasking always. Looks like a group meeting room just to the left inside the doors. Lots of desserts out front. Waited at entry to the dining area and was seated soon. Murals on the walls are fun to see but don't expect window seats since this is below ground. We had a schnitzel sausage combo plate. Pickel soup was comforting and surprising. Braut, potato and carrots were fine, schnitzel was dry. German chocolate cake was pretty tasty. Since it is a drive to get there we will probably not make the trip as often. Attentive service from seating to check.
