First time I have been to this restaurant. We had a wonderful time. Called and made a reservation for 11 about 3 hours before hand on a Tuesday and when we got there our table was ready for us. The waitress immediately took our drink orders and was great through out our dinner. We ordered a few of the starters and they were very good. I ordered the pork belly and it was delicious, very impressed with it. The others had pasta dishes and there were great as well. The fresh pasta is amazing. I can't wait to go back again and try more.
I have not one bad thing to say.. the restaurant is beautiful & so cozy. Staff were so well prepared in explaining the menu and were so kind. The food! Nothing short of amazing. There were 3 in our party and we got bread, salad, dumplings, steak, pasta, pizza. Love that it’s tapas style to be able to try a little of everything. On the drive home we tried ranking favorite to least favorite and it was a struggle- everything was so good. I can’t wait to go back!
I don’t even like Italian food but this was AMAZING. Definitely cannot cook this on my own at home. Unique flavor, creative, and still true to Italian feel. Truly recommend this place! Best Italian I have ever had. Only thing we found weird was that you don’t get bread for the table.
Ok, 4 stars for the carbonara because the pasta was too chewy for my spouse but I thought it was amazing, so very good, I loved it. I had the sea bass which was cooked delicately and perfectly. The vegetable accompaniment was fancy, well cooked and presented in bite sized pieces so 6 stars...which averaged to 5 stars. The QR code menu was different than posted online, much more limited but enough to give the diner their best. The bread servicewas yummy too. Go and spend time there.
If you haven't had a chance to check out this place then now's the time. Fresh made pasta! Do I need to say more?!! I started out with a delicious Cesar salad and fresh warm, crisp and chewy homemade bread with basil tomato butter. So good! I had the Bolognese for the main entree and didn't disappoint. Highly recommend and will be back with the family. Get out there and support this small business.
Service was decent not excellent however taking in consideration there was one waitress for entire restaurant I am forgiving this one .everyone seems to be short staffed The pasta was extremely authentic ‍ , and I can tell you it compares 1 on 1 with the ones in Italy , specially the Pasta Carbonara I had Flash backs from Rome, Venice and Florence I did not ask the Chef but I am almost 90% sure the pasta is made Roman style reminded me a lot of Rome . I highly Recommend : Any Pasta, you can’t go wrong and the Pork Belly absolutely a wonder ! If you like Seafood definitely try Octopus also a deliciously prepared dish . Over all very happy with the experience and food taste , I definitely will be coming here more often
This was definitely great and tasty Saturday evening dinner. This was our first experience at this place in Geneva. Place is so cozy with open kitchen and not overwhelming menu. We were met with our serwer which was great by the way and seated according to our reservation. All the meny items are meant to be shared which is always an idea that we really like, that way you get a chance to try different dishes at the same time.: Italian Hummus-very surprising version of hummus with added Nduja sausage, accompanied with house made pita breads was a very nice starter. Cacio E Pepe Ricotta Dumplings--WOW those were amazing, like cloudy pillows soaked in a cacio e pepe sauce. Would definitely come back just for those. Arancini--classic sicilian dish, those were indeed super crispy. Octopus--the dish was complete, the octopus was very tender with refreshing sauce, and the crispy potatoes were absolutely great. Only one suggestion- would be great to have a little bit more of octopus . I think only one tentacle for the dish is a little bit deficient. We always try octopus at restaurants and its usually two legs per dish or one but big one. Its just a suggestion but otherwise it was a very nice composition. We took a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc which paired perfectly with all the positions we had. That was an awesome dinner and we look forward to come back and try more that Osteria Bigolaro has to offer. :
I'm so grateful this wonderful restaurant is so close. Everything is always impeccable and well done. We usually get a few appetizers and a few pastas to share. Seven to nine plates between two people to get to taste all the great work they do. The carbonara is extraordinary and probably the best in the Chicago suburbs. Handmade pastas, fresh seasonal dishes, and a great wine list. What is there not to love?
New menu A+ — Table bread, fall salad, burrata, carbonara, bolognese, all fantastic. Homemade pasta is exceptional in all dishes. Props to the somm Zach I think? Sorry if I’m botching for great mocktail for pregnant wife and good wine reccos for me.
Delicious Italian served small plate style for sampling more dishes and sharing. Reservations highly recommended. Fresh in house bread service, tender and flavorful, fall off the bone fried ribs. Juicy chicken skewers. Melt in your mouth, slide off the bone, hearty beef rib. Not overly fatty pork belly was good, but found lacking in flavor compared with the other dishes. Will be back to try in-house made pasta.
