Thought this would be a new cute Italian deli revelation. Literally the worst pasta I’ve ever consumed in my entire life. The carbonara was basically packaged penne and scrambled eggs…wanted to vomit. My friend had pesto that was clearly canned it’s not that hard to make fresh pesto and it wasn’t even nice canned pesto. Would not recommend.

Next don't take the hand-written menus on the walls too seriously. There is lot available that's not there, and a lot listed which may not be available.  Let's start with the ice cream. It's wonderful. Geneva is developing an interest in gourmet ice cream not unlike it's superb taste for chocolate. ¨Italian¨ ice cream is becoming more available in Geneva, especially through ¨Gelato¨ chains, But Barbablù makes its own extremely rich version in rarely seen in Geneva but classic flavours saffron or amarena gelato sour cherry preserves anyone?. Issues: a there may only be a few selections available, and b the owner will not allow you to mix flavours. Each flavour must be its own bowl perhaps the reason for so many ¨one¨ ratings might start making sense.  Next the pasta. Only three types are written with minimal description including the dreaded ¨Bolognese¨. But ask the owner for ¨malloreddus¨ described by the BBC as ¨The perfect pasta dish Sardinians refuse to share¨, and you might begin to get the idea. Engage with the owner and all sorts of things appear. Rely solely on whatever is written with expectations of what is ¨normal¨ at your peril.  Have fun!
