The staff are really pushy in getting a sale. They lured me in as I walked by and I had already said no. Since I had 10 minutes to spare, I let her do her routine. She got quite angry that I didn't want to buy her 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and final 5th offer. The demo was cool, but men aren't exactly going to use these skin care products, and definitely not ones costing hundreds of dollars with gold flakes in them.
A lovely gypsy girl flagged me down while walking the mall. She tried to sell me a bottle of facial cleaner and some aftershave for $350! I told her I'm good with a bar of irish spring and my $5.00 block of alum.
I purchased a groupon for a facial at Oro Gold. When I first walked into the location, I found it bare, cold, and unfriendly. The employees were very judgemental and did not even offer a "hello" when I entered. I went to the counter and checked in. I was then taken back to a small closet like room with just a curtain to close off the area. A gentleman then came into the room and asked me what products I currently use on my face. After telling him, he began to laugh and snicker, letting me know that all the products I currently use are "useless" he then began to suggest the many products he was going to be using on me. I laid back and tried to ignore everything he was saying as he tried to sell and sell and sell over priced products to me. I couldnt even attempt to enjoy the facial or the "relaxing experience". He then laid a mask over my face and left the room for 15-20 minutes. Upon his return he removed the mask and cleaned off my face with a damp cloth. When we were done he lined up all the products he used on my face and again tried to sell them to me. I was interested in the one product to remove dark circles around my eyes after he let me know that at my young age I should not have dark circles, and that they were only going to increase and leave me looking tired and old...who wouldnt feel ugly and want to hear about these "fantastic products". I was interested and almost willing to agree to by this serum until he let me know it was $1,400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was shocked! I grabbed my purse and said "No thanks!" then he perceeded to try and sell me the serum for $750 plus he will discount another item to $300. I again refuesed and said that I just didnt have the money for creams at this time. He again let me know how this was a great deal and how I needed it. I couldnt help feel pressured and felt extremely awkawrd and uncomfortable. I immediately began thinking of all the ways or excuses I could possibly come up with the try and get out of there. After much negotiating I stood firm and said that I was not interested. In a child-like pout, the employee said "Fine, goodbye", and turned away. I did not recieve a "Thank you for comming", "Have a nice day", or "Would you like to rebook?", NOTHING! I felt extrememly embarassed for the staff and this company. I will NEVER be back and will NEVER recommend their services. I dont even feel that the groupon was worth it after all the hassle of dealing with their staff.
I love my orogold products I have purchased! I will be coming back to try the new winter line!
