I got approved for my truck loan through them with a super low interest rate on my 2007 F350. They have been super awesome and kind anytime I called in. Well, my father-in-law passed away right before Christmas and hubby wanted to take over his truck loan. The whole process, since the truck was from Colorado, was very difficult - but everyone at OCCU made it so easy! Helped us with everything. Randy and Ted were helping us, I forgot the gals name from the title department, and they were SO kind. Had good conversations and they were truly doing everything they could for us. Finally, after a long hard process because of the DMV’s, we got the loan!! We’re going today to set up our checking accounts with them!
OCCU was willing to give us 2 vehicle loans despite our average credit. We were able to pay both of those loans off early. Our time with them went smoothly - they were able to answer my loan questions and gave us no troubles when I paid off our loans YEARS before our payoff date. I paid off our car in April of 2021 and just received a gap insurance reimbursement check in the mail - they did an audit and determined we were due a refund. Some people might be upset at the 2 year delay, but I’m just thankful they cared enough to issue the check once they discovered the error! Especially when I, along with many other individuals, never would have thought to inquiry about our gap insurance status. I doubt any big corporate bank would have done so. 5 star service from me - would be happy to work with OCCU again in the future!
I provided my car insurance information well before my loan payment date as required and was still charged for supplemental insurance. I called to fix the issue. After waiting on hold for almost an hour I spoke with Marcy who initially refused to refund the amount after I called and I had to argue with them for over 30 minutes and provide proof of the submission to get a refund on the money they stole from my account. What a joke of an organization.
Love the wilsonville branch of OCCU- especially Ted! Always a perfect experience- customer service from everyone there is always very attentive. Ted is knowledgeable and efficient, friendly and professional. Referred my sister to OCCU today and she was very pleased as well!

Online interface is terrible, lacking important information, and hiding automatic payments so you cant see them or verify if they went through. Recently, on the day that my loan payment was due, I looked to make sure the automatic payment had gone through. To my shock and disappointment, I could find NOTHING about automatic payment details, and there was no activity on the account. I freaked out and initiated a payment, but the system forced me to choose the next day late and not the current day. I chose the next day. I contacted customer service the next day and they guy told me that auto payments are invisible to the customer interface. Excuse me, what? How is that even possible? The guy kept insisting that the auto payment went through, even though I cant see it. When I look on my end, the payment I initiated shows as completed and the debit from the balance adds up. Nothing about an automatic payment. This is completely unacceptable, EVERY SINGLE debit and credit should be visible to the customer on their end like every other bank on the planet. I may have just overdrawn my account and have no idea! What a circus, how can a financial institution with a website this bad survive?
If you want to wait on hold for at least an hour while getting transferred at least 3-4 times anytime you need something, this is the bank for you. If you want a bank with ancient systems making everything as difficult as it possibly could be, this is the bank for you. Want to get run around with misinformation and frustration, this is the one for you! It's super convenient that they're able to pass blame onto something else for every problem that occurs. Even when you think you've closed your account, better double check cuz they just might have kept it open and not communicated that with you. Oh and you'll need another hour on the phone of waiting and transfers to find out that their system is just showing you that the fraudulent charge that was disputed and resolved is still open when it really wasn't. Really great use of my time figuring that out. If you need help from someone who can actually communicate with multiple departments so you're not getting transferred and put on hold a million times, better ask for a supervisor immediately. Worst experience ever. Please, be better.
I financed my car though them and have run into issue after issue in the few months that I've had it. Their website and app are practically unusable and when you call them with an issue they are rude and condescending.The latest issue I had with them was when I made an early payment on my car loan and then woke up to find my account overdrawn on a Saturday three days before the normal payment was due because the automatic payment had still posted again, three days early for some reason. They claimed that I had made an "additional payment" even though I had confirmation stating that it was a regular early payment, it had shown my next payment was not due until the next month, and I had even had my partner look it over to confirm I was making an EARLY payment not an ADDITIONAL payment before I submitted it. Someone else later admitted that this is a common system error, but the next person insinuated that I must have made a mistake. This is not my first car loan and I have never run into issues like this. It took me over a week of back and forth to get someone to cancel one of the payments and even then I only got a letter stating it had been canceled with no other follow up. The money is still not back in my account. I'm in customer service and I really don't need people to be overly nice to me, but they were so rude and strangely passive aggressive when dealing with something that was obviously a system error. There in no useful communication or clarity with these people, please don't trust them to take care of your money.
I have tried several times to change my address with them and each time they say it’s changed and I get a piece of mail forwarded from my old address. Luckily I guess it’s still getting forwarded a year later but if I confirm a change of address I don’t expect to have to call again! My friend has also had a hell of a time with her car loan saying there’s no insurance on file when she’s confirmed it with them multiple times, also having her address wrong, not calling back after leaving messages with them etc etc….I had initially highly recommended them bc my own car loan went smoothly and never had any issues but now that it’s paid off I’ll probably just close the account for good.
OCCU is the best, and Stephanie Huycke is an absolute delight to work with! My husband and I applied for our very first mortgage and Stephanie made an otherwise overwhelming process approachable and enjoyable. I would recommend OCCU to anyone and, in particular, first time homebuyers. We will absolutely be working with them on our financial goals moving forward!
