Ophelia is 10 out of 10. Their tacos both the bone marrow and trio of pork were outstanding! We also ordered the pork belly. Everything was so rich and deep in flavour. We will definitely be back for more! The food came quickly and the staff were very friendly.
I’ve been craving bone marrow and was delighted to see there was a happy hour menu here. It was great to have bike stands right outside the restaurant and be sat on the patio immediately by the friendly hostess, although advised there is a time cut-off due to happy hour. We ended up just ordering from the main menu as it was all appealing. Hands down Tacos De Arracherro Y Bone Marrow was the star of the dishes. It was fantastic to be able to add additional bone marrow, which the staff kindly offered additional corn tortillas to accompany it. Our server, Peter, was above and beyond in hospitality, very kind and attentive ensuring everything was timely. The meal was just as brilliant as the service.
My experience involved two separate occasions. First time, I went on a Friday night , my food and drinks were spectacular, 10/10! Then I went on a Tuesday night, and here is why I did not like it that much. First, the food was overly salted, trust me, coming from Latin descent, I like my food seasoned but not to the point where the salt leaves a burn on your tongue. Next, it just did not taste as good because the food was not that fresh. Also, my service was the minimal during second time. My service first time was a Latin gentleman, he was so good, who ensured we received high quality service. We ordered the guacamole that was overly salted, bone marrow tacos where the bone marrow was burnt and the taco wasn’t as fresh, pork belly mole that was probably The best dish but it was dry, flan, and tomato rice that tasted like risotto which is okay. My first time was 5/5, second time was 3/5 so that is why I give it an overall rating of 4/5. They need to work on being consistent with food.
A fancy mexican restaurant with very delicious meals and great staff. The drinks are awesome and all the dishes that we tried were amazing. My favorite was the beef chicharons. They were so delicious that we ordered another one. The pork belly is also amazing, unfortunately didn't take its pictures. The restaurant itself looks good, clean and fancy and it's a great environment for a dinner date. The staff are super friendly and the service is fast.
The food at Ophelia is top notch! Their menu has many choices but I have to say my favourites were the octopus and the tuna tostada. Everything was so fresh and the flavours were perfect. I would recommend going with a larger group so you can try more of the menu.
Had high expectations due to the hype online, and had dinner here tonight. Honestly, I think food was not bad, but didn’t live up to the hype for sure. Nothing spectacular but average food. The service was excellent and our server was top notch. Didn’t like the bone marrow in particular as I expected to eat the marrow but no marrow can be found in the bone? Irony?? Our server was nice to remove the dish from our bill and we returned the food. Loved their drink menu though, lots of options!
I heard lots of great reviews from people about this restaurant. I finally went there and gave it a try. The cocktails were average. Their signature dish octopus tasted soft and it didn’t have the tender texture octopus usually has. I’m not sure it was because it wasn’t fresh or it had been frozen in the freezer before cook. The chicken dish had a strong seasoning on the gravy, it wasn’t so tasty. I was a little bit disappointed about this place.
Update. Second visit to Ophelia and another great experience of food and drink. I did ask for a small variation from the kitchen which they wouldn't accommodate so a little more flexibility would be a bonus asked for a single taco in addition to my octopus as I wanted a little meat with my seafood but a great restaurant to visit. First visit... Very impressed with all aspects of this restaurant. Creative dishes, all meals very exceptional. Tortilla Soup extremely delicious. Cocktails really nice. Prices are elevated but on par for the quality and current trend in the local industry. Ambience is great as well. I didn't see a happy hour but if they have one ever I will visit more often.
A friend and I went to Ophelia for dinner on a week night and was pleased with the service and the availability of patio seats - super nice during a hot summer evening! Highly recommend the taco trio. My friend had the bone marrow tacos and really enjoyed it. The shrimp ceviche came with a side of chips and was quite refreshing. Wasn't super expensive either. Prices were expected. Would come again for a friend get together again!
Came here for a work dinner as a table of 4. It's a trendy, intimate and more upscale Mexican restaurant. I ordered the bone marrow tacos which were so delicious and came with a really generous portion of bone marrow. Though there were just 3 tacos, they were really filling as a main. The steak in the tacos was tender and cooked to perfection. Someone else ordered the ribeye and shared a taste because the portion was huge. The ribeye was also cooked to perfection, really delicious. I would definitely order this next time! Highly recommend and will definitely return to try more of their dishes
