Machete Mexican Healthy Food

I read the reviews calling this place the most authentic Mexican in Vancouver and it’s certainly a different vibe to the kind of margarita blend place that are more typical here. At the moment, the service is take away only and feels a bit odd ringing the doorbell and giving your order, waiting outside til she comes back. But the service was friendly. I got the recommended machete as most of the menu was fairly unfamiliar to me in a good way - something different!. The baguette shape i was offered when the order was ready intrigued me. I was also given a ‘spicy’ sauce to accompany. The tortilla was very fresh, a little thicker but also very light texture. The meat was excellent. Cucumber and onion was nice to cut through and I appreciated the salsa to cut through the protein. It was also very filling so I look forward to going back and trying new items but might try something smaller. Highly recommend!

This is a hole in the wall place but don’t be fooled by it’s sketchy look! The food is amazing as all of the reviews say : Get the corn! Love sticky corn in general, but I’ve always eaten them plain, so I found these elotes rly special! 6.5$ for a corn is quite a steep price though. And get the pozol!! It’s a drink made with cocoa and fermented corn. It was so unique and refreshing, loved it. The tacos were a bit disappointing. The Mexican truffle one did not have any taste :/ quite a waste of 6$, and hence -1 star. The carnitas was okay tho quite fatty. Overall I had to drown them in hot sauce and lime. Loved how everything was healthy and traditional! You have to wait 30 min after placing your order tho. And takeout only, it’s only a kitchen. Price is quite steep tbh, but I don’t mind spending more for a unique taste and supporting small businesses! Would come back to try other stuff :

I’m Mexican and I can assure you this is the place. The flavor is real! not some Americanized “Mexican” food. The best breakfast that I had so far in Vancouver. You should go! Don’t doubt twice! Thank you to the owners and all employees of Machete for sharing the real flavors of Mexico!

Authentic Mexican food, say it from a Mexican congratulations to Machete for achieve to cook real Mexican food with the limited ingredients that Vancouver can offer. I am sorry for the negative comments for the random haters that first of all they are only personal preference and not Mexicans. I really appreciate the effort you make for cook real tortillas. I like the concept of the ghost kitchen even the people doesn’t understand it.

I'm fascinated with the flavour and quality of the ingredients. The portion of the machete is really big 60 cm and 1 could feet 2 or 3 people. I also order a drunk called posol and let me tell you how much I regret not ordering 2. It's an ancestral drink with a corn and chocolate base so refreshing!!! This place exceeds my expectations. Can't wait to order it again!

Hands down the best tasting Mexican in Vancouver! Tacos are delicious and I could write an essay on how good their sauces/condiments are! If you crave Mexican, Machete is the place to go.

Hi, I knew about "Machete" from a latin festival and we decided to try their food and is so authentic I'm from Mexico and I'm always sceptical about Mexican food in Canada and "Machete" has THE flavour that reminded me of being back home. It's so good and they give a friendly service.

This place is the something else!!! Would rate the food 10 out of 10 and their service 12 out of 10. The best party food we ever had, delicious food and affordable prices. A friend of mind recommended them and I can't thank her enough. The tacos, veggies, and the rest of the amazimg party trays we had, which I can't even pronounce the names of, were astonishing. Would highly recommend the Chorizo sausage, best sausage I ever had. Thank you for catering and making a very unique and special evening.

Excellent, authentic Mexican food. The blue corn tortillas were fresh and tacos were stuffed with tasty meat and toppings. The Pastor tacos were my personal favourite. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu.

You can absolutely taste the quality and love in their food. Had the birria machete and chorizo tacos. They were packed with flavour, super fresh ingredients and generously filled. They missed a drink in my order and the owner drove all the way to my house to drop it off personally. Even added an extra treat for the trouble. These guys are amazing at their craft and there's a clear pride in ownership. Wish you guys the best of luck, you have a customer for life.
