Open Range Bar and Grill

2 weeks ago I called and asked if the restaurant was open at night on Mother's Day, May 14 2017. The girl that answered said yes. I asked how late they were open, she said 'til 8 unless they start summer hrs. She said they were having a buffet. I told her I knew that would be during the day but we were coming at night as our relatives were coming through on a bus tour from England and would only be here that night. She said they were open so I made the reservation for 5:30 for 9 people. She took my name and phone number, I thought we were good. My Mom is on oxygen and uses a walker so they arrived early with my sister and her husband. When they arrived the door was closed. My sister went to the main lobby where she was informed that the restaurant was closed and wanted to know who took the reservation. I seriously did not think I needed to write that down! So after frantically calling around as I was supposed to pick up the English relatives in 20 minutes, my sister got a reservation at 6:10 at the Rib and Chop house. We had a wonderful meal there, they were very busy but managed to get our large party in. We have had several business Christmas parties at the open range, but never again. Rib and chop house has my business!

We have come here many times before, however we brought friends from England hopeing to impress them. They didn't have several items on the menu and our guests appetizer was 20 minuites later than the rest of us. Then his dinner was late. When I complained to the manager she was rude and said that was just the way it was. No comp on his appetizer or apology. Go to the Rib and Chop House, much better food and service!

I was at Open Range for my Birthday and was very pleased. I ordered the NY Strip and it was tender and cooked perfectly. At first I wasn't sure about he Roquefort cheese but it paired very well with the steak and I was very pleased. I had the Creme Brulee and it was delicious! (I usually get the pie and always love it) I have enjoyed this place in the past as well and appreciate the menu updates and service I receive.

This WAS a great place. I just ordered a caesar salad with shrimp...$10 for four shrimp? Not grilled...hair with crouton...wish good places would stick around

Open Range has the best burger in Sheridan. I used to think that distinction was a tie between the Wyarno Bar and Creek & Cattle Co, but Open Range has put together a combination of a large hand made patty, house-made pepper bacon, and hand cut fries that is terrific.
