What a unique store! We actually thought it was a furniture store before we walked in, but were very wrong. They have a ton of different and unique products and food/snacks from Japan. There is plenty of things here that you won’t find elsewhere. They have a little cafe as well which serves food.
Not only the restaurant , also they have so many cute and useful items in store. For school, house, office, cosmetics, food, drinks, …etc. If you never been to Oomomo, i bet your first impression would be “ Wow!!! “. So good to have Oomomo in Winnipeg, it makes my life easier and better!!! By the way, the food and drinks in their restaurants are amazing and tasty!! Try it!! For sure!!
Oomomo was an incredible experience. They have it all. From day to day living, useful tools, housewares, and incredible snacks. My wife and I came here to get rice seasoning and specific spices that Oomomo happens to import. I, of course, got lost searching for all the Pokemon stuff I could find. While it was all snacks, they were exclusive to Japan and super hard to get here. Oomomo is just as much an experience as it is to shop, its worth a visit to see their unique wares and meet their super friendly staff
Some things can be a bit pricey compared to buying snacks or things online but it is a really cute store with many options if you're interested in Japanese accessories, characters, food, and kitchen stuff! Great that there is one in Winnipeg!
This store is completely cute and everything kawaii! ^_^ You can find everything from Japanese kitchen stuff, to hygiene stuff, bathroom supplies & home organizers, stationary, decor, & snacks! Most items are $3 & final sale, so like a more expensive dollar store, but cuter! There is also an indoor cafe.
Great store with just a TON of super cute imported Japanese goods. We get tons of our dinnerware here. The reason for 3 stars is that prices are a little high for some things that I wouldn’t expect. The value of the Japanese yen has been steadily declining over the last few years, which in theory should be lower the costs of these goods, but the prices here don’t seem to reflect that, which just equals higher profit margins which I’m not really in favour of as I’m sure this company employs more than it’s fair share of underpaid employees.
Oomomo Cafe is open again. They had closed down for most of the pandemic. I hear their rice dishes are okay. It's right by the entrance. Their ice cream is good. They have small parfaits for about $4-$5, and Crepes for about $6-$8, and a few hot meals for about $17. Their crepes are soft and are not filled very much, but they taste good with the little toppings they do add. Nice atmosphere, seems clean. Seating isn't very comfortable. Washrooms are hidden in the middle section of the very back wall of the store. They do not accept/give the store membership points card. But do take credit, debt and cash.
I absolutely love this place. The variety of items never ceases to amaze me. I do love the fact they have a little restaurant to dine in. The staff were very nice and when I needed help getting something from a locked area, it was very easy to find someone. The music wasn't too loud when I went and the aisles were spacy enough to let multiple people shop without feeling like you were squished. The stationary items are the best and I can't wait to come back for more!
I finally got to this store. What a gem! There are thousands of cool unique items. Items you just don't see anywhere else. Everything is very reasonably priced. A lot of imported food snacks to try! Only thing that wasn't pleasant was the smell when you first walk in. There is a café when you first enter and I have no idea what was on the menu that day but I found the smell to be very unpleasant. I will definitely be returning for more treasures
We've spent 10 days vacationing in Winnipeg. My wife has had us go here 4x for long periods. She still hasn't seen everything. This place is awesome. Hit up the cafe and then browse aisle upon aisle of interesting items you won't find anywhere else. Pretty sure at this point that one of our checked luggages is going to be almost entirely Oomomo items.
