Olean General Hospital

Had a great experience at OGH's ER thanks to Eva and Mark. Thanks guys! Super attentive despite being stretched so thin due to lack of staff. Triage and radiation staff also were fantastic. Staff was working their tails off but still did their best to take care of their patients. The ER is not the ideal place to spend Christmas Eve, but it was as quick and painless as it could be!

Don't waste your time trying to get any resemblance of care. The most unprofessional experience I have ever had. Took my 88 year old mother due to heart issues. Left her laying on a cart in the hall for 7 hours before I took her out of there. They said hours earlier she was going to a room and be admitted. Found out hours later they have had people there for 3 days waiting. That was direct from a nurse.

After talking with Terry in customer relations I feel better about this hospital. I still don’t recommend using the ER unless u truly have an emergency, however my main concern would be with the billing of the triage nurse practitioner. We do not have insurance and after talking with the nurse practitioner on an I pad for 2 minutes at the most, we were sent a bill for $2800. Terry is trying to help with this and we greatly appreciate her help. They are going to put signage up stating there are costs associated with triage, which is helpful.

12-03-22 I will have to say they were pretty dam though they ran more test and rechecks then I expected they would . Answer question’s even did everything to find a hospital with endocrine team with icu bed available , I’m going into thyroid storm . If there are any endocrine Doctors reading this please consider applying for the endocrine position .Thyroid storm is no joke it can literally kill you . I know I’m not the only one in this area who needs an endocrinologist . I would give 5 stars . Thank you to the team who did work on me today .

I was traveling to olean to visit family and had to go to the er if thats what you can even call it. The intake nurse needed to get blood work from me and when he did not get anything from the 1st stick he use the same needle and stuck me a 2nd time. If you know anything about the working in the medical field that is not ok. And after that had to sot in the waiting room 6 hours to find out that they were not going to help me.

Olean General Hospital is the dirtiest medical facility I have ever been in. There were a couple of kind nurses, and there were some very rude, unprofessional nurses during my husband’s stay. I have NEVER been so mistreated in any hospital. It was a horrible experience in every way, God help me if my husband or I ever have to go there again. Hopefully, administration/management will read this and do a major overhaul!

Adding this to the beginning of my comment so People will see. If you call that “complaint” number they are on posting on bad reviews, they patronize your and say they’ll investigate but they really don’t. Same lady I filed my initial complaint with called me just this morning and tried to gaslight saying I didn’t give her my aunt’s name, or my mom’s or phone numbers of other witnesses. I know I did. Didn’t leave them in a voicemail, but I for sure gave them to her over the phone. I know I didn’t hallucinate that. I will be filing a direct complaint against nurse Janice and the hospital that employs her Also, no, I will not be calling that stupid number. You said you would investigate. You didn’t. You’re liars.

My 74-year-old father was brought to the ER with "Altered Mental Status" and they discharged him at Midnight the same night without calling family or a friend to get him! They let him wander around unsupervised for hours and let him leave the building! Thankfully he was found at our local clinic around 10:00am the next day but this was truly unprofessional! I won't bother filing a complaint since they don't even care to think of their patients or their families!

This is the dirtiest, understaffed hospital. The staff that is there is great and they definitely earn their money. I would not send my loved one to this hospital. No one is on the same page. Very bad experience and wouldn't recommend.

The administration of this hospital is deplorable. Olean Hospital needs to hire more nurses and providers. My loved on is not being moved from their laying position every few hours the bare minimum! in her bed to prevent sores, pain, or blood clots. I was horrified visiting this hospital, and how rarely nurses available to help. The nurses are swamped with work. The ratio of nurses to beds is terrible. The president, "Dr. Jill Owens" should know better than to risk patients lives with understaffing. Unexcusable in such a small town to not have enough care providers. Olean will kill patients due to understaffing. I'd move my relative if possible to another, safer location.
