Nice restaurant right on the water same building as fishing museum. Kitchen very slow but our server Jacob I think? was attentive. Kids menu mediocre. We really enjoyed the seafood dip and lobster roll. Pulled pork sandwich a bit too sweet but still pretty good. Fish tacos were ok, seasoning weren't quite our taste. Sat on the patio to enjoy the view.
Amazing food and outstanding experience. We had a great view of the water and boats going by, the service is great and restaurant quite spacious with patio seating for those who prefer it we loved the 2nd floor better given the hot day. Some of the other locations in the town had long lineups, this went quite fast probably because its located within the Fisheries Museum and not as visible. The fish and chips was delicious with huge portions, in fact everything was quite generous. I know some have commented on it being a bit expensive but we did compare prices with a few other places with long lineups and did not find it more expensive. We also tried the Chicken fingers from the kids menu and for dessert ordered the Chocolate brownie with raspberry sauce and ice cream. The coffee was very good, they told us its a local store and you can buy it from them. They have free refills on the pop and coffee. Overall fantastic value for money and delicious food.
Overall good experience. A bit over priced in my opinion however food was tasty Started with the seafood dip, it was creamy and tasty however didnt really taste like seafood at all. The calamari was lightly breaded fried and had a nice marinara sauce. For mains we had the whole lobster, the jerk fish tacos, fish and chips and the mussels. Lobster was fresh and had an option for a larger lobster. Came with boiled potatoes and a salad. Fish and chips were lightly battered, and like some reviews the fish itself was a bit thin. The mussels came out ice cold but our waitress was fabulous and was corrected immediately. Once they came back out they were hot and good sized; would have been nice to have a piece of bread to dip in the broth. Then jerk fish tacos were ok. 2 tacos with halibut, pineapple and some cilantro dressing. I did not get any jerk flavouring whatsoever. The staff was excellent, friendly and great to deal with. Depending where you sit you also have a great view of the water!
We had an excellent experience here. Sat on the patio, delightful atmosphere and views of the water. The patio is dog friendly and they even brought our pup a water bowl. The food and service were great. The seafood tasted fresh and was delicious. Nice drink selection too.
Great location, great food and good service!!! Live music was an added bonus! Almost everything we had was pretty good. The fish and chips were food with massive portions. The Lobster roll was spectacular. I'd go back just for that. Everything else was pretty good. Didn't care much for the soup and salad. Not the best place to eat if you have a vegetarian with you though. They were a bit confused with what a vegetarian can and can not eat, lol.
The server was amazing, very attentive to our needs. However, 45 minutes for dinner which consisted of two appetizers and fish and chips. They said there is no room inside but went inside several times to find many empty tables and few people actually using the ones that were there. The people there seem nice but not somewhere I’d be going again or recommending.
The lobster roll was delicious. We have to pay extra for sides but the sweet potatoes fries were worth it. They were out on a couple items on their menu due to supply chain issues but it was wasn’t a problem for us. Service was super fast. We were seated on the patio by the water. Amazing experience overall but a little bit pricey.
Waiting for my table. 15 minutes which is not bad for a Saturday night in the summer. Calamari was amazing and was gone almost instantly. Seafood dip is also good. Ambiance is great. Looks fantastic inside. Right on the dock and we had a window seat. All woodgrain interiors. Our host is very friendly and courteous.
Get the side of lobster tail - succulent and tasty, perfectly seasoned with a little olive oil and garlic. I had the scallops entree which was so perfect, fresh, great consistency and flavor. The crab-potato salad was more like potato logs with a generous drizzle of crab meat on it, which was an interesting and unexpected take on potato salad, but was unfortunately a little heavy on the oil so the crab didn't have it's characteristic consistency. Sean was the perfect server, giving frequent updates and being careful not to interrupt conversation. Overall, a delicious meal with a great view of the Lunenburg waterfront.
For the type of restaurant the Old Fish Factory is, this was still a 5-star experience for me. •We were greeted immediately and accommodations were made to meet our request for a shaded table. •Our server Trish, I think was her name was lovely, friendly and attentive. •The caipirinha was made perfectly. We had the lobster roll delicious, bacon-wrapped scallops, halibut and a lobster tail. All of it was delicious. The scallops arrived cold but were still tasty.
