One of Windsors best kept nature reserves. Great walking trails, trees, and natural ponds for family outings. Ideal for teaching children about nature and indigenous trees, flora, and critters. Smile at the squirrel and chipmunk antics and watch out for the deer at dusk. If you're quiet and respectful, you might see other creatures too!
They do not have the proper fall colours yet, but it's still a loving trail. They have so many routes and turns to choose from it's fun and the view it beautiful. I did not see any benches in between, so it's one only meant for walking.
Hidden gem. Great for family. Saw lots of wildlifes in our walk, including 3 deers!
Great place to see wildlife and have a walk. Still hear traffic, so immersion is not possible.
Quick and clean walk around in the nature. Kids, wheelchair accessible. The staff needs to do a better job at marking the trails. But the trails are so small no one can get lost. Worse case scenario you will end up in the parking lot and missed half your nature walk. Needs some TLC. But still well maintained. Great for family, wedding pictures.
We absolutely love it here! It is our favourite local destination for nature walks. Bring hotdogs and marshmallows for the raccoons but don't get too close, they turn on a dime, carrots for the deer, and bird see! The chickadees will actually land right in your hand if you hold it out with seed. When the nature center is open, there are fun activities for the kiddos and the park staff are very knowledgeable if you have questions!
The beauty of nature when the sun is shining through the trees. Seeing birds so close they'll eat seeds from your hand. The deer wandering not afraid at all is just part of what Ojibway offers. Paths wide enough to socially distance and spots to stop if you want/need to. There are a variety of paths too from asphalt to short or long mulch lined paths. Take the time to enjoy the exercise and beauty.
Ojibway Nature Center is a wonderful place to visit. You can sit in the large window area with the bird feeders displayed for excellent viewing. What's a large selection of birds mostly finches woodpeckers and the occasional Sparrow. Squirrels love to come up and eat the leftovers along with the Chipmunks. It's an excellent place just out of the city close enough for a nice nature touch visit. Well maintained and they're just repairing the pond Lookout Boardwalk. There's a wonderful display of animals Critters fish inside the Nature Center. As well as live reptiles fish and some turtles. They'd have hot chocolate and tea as well as some cold drinks for sale. Great place to just go for a quick walk to get away from noise and the hustle and bustle.
Lovely wooded area to wander.
Well maintained pathways through Carolinian Forest of mainly mature Black Oak and Sasparilla. Winter has Chickadees, Nuthatches, Tufted Titmous and the odd Downie woodpecker will alight on your hand for seed. They all especially like sunflower seeds. White tail deer are fairly numerous and one specifically is fearless and walks up to us looking to be fed from our hand. Others are more skittish, especially when dogs on leash are nearby.. The odd owl or hawk have visited to upser the tranquility.
