Gorgeous mountain with many options of hiking length or driving to make the summit. Although there is some hiking regardless if how far up you drive. Enjoy!
Used the auto road. Hiked to the peak. Stunning views. Fairly easy. I have bad knees and was able to enjoy. Saw lots of families and older folks. Good for everyone.
Nice trails clearly marked decent parking at trail heads. Attendance worker was awesome helpful friendly
We drove the auto road to the top. After parking we enjoyed a picnic lunch and then hit the trails for the final 0.7 mi to the observation tower. The trails were well marked and reasonably easy for the climb. There were some steep sections but nothing too tricky. We enjoyed the view from the observation tower and the hike down.
The mountain itself if beautiful and stunning as always. The campground received some updates to the main bathroom. It looks nicer, but could use more hooks in the shower stall or a bench to put your belongings on so they are off the floor. Not to mention a shower curtain or door. Man is it chilly!
Clean lightly used park and trails with an incredible view from the observation tower at the top. Bumpy twisty auto road takes you 3.7 miles up and you hike the last .6 miles to the summit. The trail is rocky, steep in places and often wet and muddy even in late summer. Reasonably priced at $4 day pass for an adult.
