The recent renovation done made the grocery store more spacious and clean. The store offers a wide selection of fruits, drinks, vegetables, Asian products, and other kitchen products. There is a sushi bar, pastry shop, fish shop and meat shop. The best part is the rest area and washroom inside provided for shoppers.
This place has everything for the house. Large varieties of food and groceries. Lots of tasty and ready-made desserts .Large spaces to move around with a cart. Reasonable prices.
The selection is wide for many cultures. However, their price at the time of writing this comment has gone absurdly higher than other Asian grocers, maybe on par with T&T while shopping experience is lacking. I came today to buy Eagle oilment for gift, only 1 dozen left, and the box is opened, the bonus oilment is missing. I still bought because in my memory Ocean price was very good. After 5 mins in the store, their prices on almost everything shocked me. Decided to leave and visit Nation on my way home, found stuff cheaper, and the oilment pack was pristine.
Worst shopping experience ever. You will not be respected by the seafood court clerks. All of them would pretend not seeing you even you talk to them in their mother language, they wouldn’t give any response, no service at all. It seems all of them hate the world. One of them pick up fresh crabs from the box under the counter for customer he obviously knows and just leave the ones nearly dying on the counter. They treated all the customers badly, equally. NOBODY is respected. All the customers are shaking heads and speechless. Why we have to buy seafood from people like these. It seems they are totally untrained and unprofessional. I must speak out for the people who were treated badly. Never come to this place, toxic!
I am a regular customer at Oceans, usually purchasing produce and food from the hot table. I am always pleased with those purchases. However, today I bought a 6-inch coffee cake from the bakery to commemorate a special day. It looked like the mocha or espresso cakes I've previously ordered from Metro and La Casa Dolce and expected this to be similar. It absolutely is not! I asked for a message to be iced on and instead of using regular icing they used a gel icing, which looked wobbly and unprofessional. The icing is gritty, tasteless, and foamy. The cake itself is tasteless and foamy/spongy has no crumble or texture. Eating this cake was like eating soft styrofoam. I am extremely disappointed and wish I had not wasted my money on this cake. I will continue buying produce at Oceans but never again will I get a cake here!
