Waiting since 7:50 PM — it’s now 8:05 PM as I’m posting this. We waited over 15 minutes for service at the seafood/meat counters at Clarkson Metro with no staff present. We finally had to flag down someone from a completely different department just to get assistance.nnThese counters handle some of the store’s highest-ticket items and are also major shrink-sensitive departments, so it’s surprising to see them left unattended during peak evening hours. We were purchasing a large amount of seafood including scallops and fish, and honestly almost left the store entirely due to the delay.nnManagement may want to review staffing and oversight in these departments, because this kind of service issue directly impacts sales and customer retention.
Do not order flowers from the floral department! We ordered some flowers for an event from the floral department, and they were such bad quality and they were all wilted. The order was placed over the phone, and the florist was told exactly what to do Colour of flowers, types of flowers, and what kind of wrapping was supposed to be used and she was told to make sure that the flowers were all fresh as it was very important that they looked good. Instead of following the instructions that were stated multiple times, she did what she wanted to do and the bouquet looked absolutely hideous as if a child had put it together. If you will be charging premium prices people expect premium service.
Went for some groceries will definitely never be back. Blood from meat that hasn’t been touched in weeks. the smell of rotten milk as soon as you open the milk door to be greeted with moldy spilt milk on the shelfs unclean un sanitary
I visited Metro on August 30, 2025 at around 7:10 PM and had a very disappointing experience at the customer service desk. I was looking for a few items and asked for help multiple times, but neither of the two staff members a male and a female made any effort to come with me or show me where I could find the products. Instead, they were busy talking to each other.nnWhen I asked again, I was simply told, “If you don’t find it, that means we are out of it.” This attitude is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Customer service means guiding customers, not ignoring them.nnMetro really needs to improve staff training and accountability. Such careless behavior reflects poorly on the store and makes customers feel neglected.
At a time of Christmas cheer, crowded parking, long lines and some unpleasantries with finding your way ..there is no frik'n rush!nnMETRO Southdown your awesome! Love the integration of classic good old shopping over the holidays. The clean, easy to navigate, jaw-opening look made my shopping easy and fun. Got what I wanted from the bakery to the gifts sets and a beautiful bottle of wine from centre of the attraction. Service was unique, caring, patient, well focused and very considerate of my purchases. In-Out, no hassle, confident I made the right choice!!nnHappy Holidays!!
