Great drinks, a smaller restaurant so good for smaller groups. The tuna tar tar and ceviche were our favourite. The other food we tried was kinda heavy tasting and over broiled. Sever staff was nice but only suggested the most expensive things on the menu to try when we asked what was popular. Worth going to try!
Finally authentic Peruvian dishes in downtown Toronto! I highly recommend checking the restaurant out. The food and cocktails are excellent. Must try are the tuna tartare and octopus. Even though Lomo saltado is not on the menu, they were able to make me a plate- did I say that loud. I hope the restaurant adds 1 or 2 more Peruvian dishes. The staff are beyond knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks
Nuna is a great spot for cocktails and experiencing Peruvian classics. Their ceviche and Octupus were really delicious and worth every penny. Olivia, our server made sure we were comfortable throughout our dining experience. The ambience is pretty solid and the place had great music playing which fit the vibe. There are two reasons why I have taken away a star. We were asked if we would like to place the order for our mains with the appetizers. As one would expect, ideally the mains would arrive a few minutes after apps. However while we were relishing the ceviche and tartare, all our mains arrived. With the fear of the food running cold, I had to request the food to be sent back to the kitchen so that it could sit under the warmer till we were done with our appetizers. Ideally for the price being charged, I would expect the server to gauge the time at when appetizers would be done and let the kitchen know to have the mains ready. The second reason was the presence of mosquitoes inside the restaurant which made it a tad bit uncomfortable towards the end. However, the pleasantries exchanged and the positivity shown by the staff elevated the experience. I feel they could add a few more Peruvian specialties to their menu, which would possibly be in a few months as they're still a bit new.
We had a great evening. The food was really yummy, staff were great, cocktails were fun and delicious, and great ambiance. We ate a few things before we remembered to take pictures. Definitely recommend Nuna!Food: 5/5
I've been to a few Peruvian spots in the city, and this is easily the best one. The flavours are distinct, the quality of ingredients is topnotch, prices are a bit high but worth it, and the service is impeccable. We stopped by for dinner and did a whole lot of eating. - Nuna Ceviche: Delightfully spicy-acidic, like all great ceviches are. The seafood they used was fresh and plump. The generous amount of corn nuts added a textured pop. Definitely worthy of having the restaurant's name on this dish. - Yuca Fries: There was an almost nutty taste to these fries which I loved. The generous amount of huancaina dip on it added a great bite to the starchiness of the fries. - Octopus and Cauliflower Puree: I love octopus and am very judgy about it. Nuna does theirs really well - tender and almost milky. Also, the puree was so smooth. - Shrimp Sliders: All you need to know is the shrimp patty was full of delicious shrimp versus extenders. - Gnocchi al Pesto: The gnocchi were pillowy bites, but the star was the short rib strips braised to perfect taste and tenderness. - Lemon Pie: Properly tarty, great nutty crust. - Passion Fruit Mousse and Brownie: A great dessert. Perfect balance of the smooth tartiness of the passion fruit mousse with the crumbly bitter-sweetness of the brownie. As you can see, it's very obvious I loved this place. Will definitely be back!
In our quest for a “go to” Peruvian restaurant, Nuna takes the prize in Toronto! We enjoyed the ambiance, very niche and quaint restaurant. The service was good, we enjoyed the level of hospitality. For the food, the ceviche was spot on, I enjoyed the crunch of the corn. I missed the soft and fresh corn though. The Yuca fries and the sauce are a must. The lomo saltado hit the mark, a bit of a different recipe than we were used to, but ended up being pretty delicious regardless. The octopus was tasty and presented well. We’d highly recommend it and return!
Located on queen street west this place is a small, beautiful restaurant with amazing food and great staff. We had spicy margarita which was a vodka based cocktail - a classic! For mains I got the gnocchi al pesto and the pork chop chaufa. The pork chop chaufa came with a side of rice which was my favourite part of the meal - the rice was flavourful and very tasty. The gnochhi al pesto was great as well! I'm going to come back for sure to try out their other menu items. Loved the overall experience!
First time trying Nuna and it was great! The tuna tartare was delicious, ceviche so fresh, pesto gnocchi and octopus were both incredible! Plus the lemon pie and brownie with passion fruit were super yummy
If you’re looking for authentic Peruvian food in Toronto you need to stop by this place ASAP. I loved the cocktails, the ceviche and the chicken. The Peruvian flan was the perfect ending to our meal. Can’t wait to be back at this cozy spot!Recommended dishesNuna Ceviche, Brasa Rotisserie Chicken, Peruvian Flan
Absolutely loved our experience at Nuna. The spicy margarita was no joke. It was delicious but the spice also kicked our butt. No complaints! Just the way we love it! The causa appetizer was so good that husband and I were fighting for it. : Finally we had chicken brasa which is a great portion for two people for two meals. So it's worth the $30! The sauces were slightly disappointing both in terms of quantity and taste. I'm sure they can improve on it. Next the broth they gave us was amazing. So was the salad. The salad was one of the most unique thing we've ever tasted. So we were pretty stuffed eating just half of everything. We wanted our food packed. Sadly when we got home, we realized they didn't pack the broth which we enjoyed do throughly. I wish they told us that they're not going to pack it, then we would have gulped that bowl of goodness. So this was slightly disappointing! Finally the staff is beautiful, music was fantastic, lighting and the entire ambiance was romantic! Can't wait to come back again.
