Nice place if you are seasonal. Are camper is 37 foot with a dulley pickup. Not enough room for me,we got blocked in by tents for a day. Nice rental cottages would be perfect, bring a boat, would be great. I have a toy hauler and the camp ground is not for me,
What a wonderful resort! Scott, Katie, and their kids were awesome! Clean, beautiful cabin was perfect for my wife and I!! Sully even showed me his secret fishing spots!!! We will definitely be back!!!Rooms: 5/5
Fantastic place, Scott is great well worth the price Cabin 3 has a great view of the lake facing east. Coffee in the morning Bourbon at night. Great place to decompress. Highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5
We just stayed for a week and had a great time. Staff was nice and helped if we needed anything. We stayed in the cabin and my parents had a campsite. The cabin was clean with nice pans for cooking. They don't supply dish/kitchen towels but we brought some since it says to bring your own towels. We had plenty of room for 6 people to eat dinner inside if needed. There is a window A/C unit that worked pretty well to keep the place cool. The view from the cabin was nice. The location was beautiful and it was great that our dock was right off our campsite. The cabin and campsite were only about 40 feet from each other which was great for meals and bringing stuff back and forth. We used the fish cleaning house and it worked pretty slick. Already planning our next trip!
This place has nice cabins and campsites. It’s designed for fishing and camp fires. They have a house to clean off your fish and some people have seasonal sites. The camp site has been hit by a couple of tornadoes and is now up and running again after a short pause to rebuild. I’ve been to so many campgrounds and this one is one of the most basic, hence 3 out of 5 stars. The game room looks like it has been closed for years. There is not a beach to swim at and the water is not water you would swim in if there was. There is not a pool either. And finally, the owners are nice people, but the gentleman complains about their problems to their customers. Customers come there to get away from their problems, so I found that unprofessional and kind of a drag. Otherwise, it’s a decent place for older folks to relax and be on a nice fishing lake.
Awesome owner's, nice resort, great spot, fire pits are great on each camp spot as well as able to purchase firewood from the owners, fishing tackle & items other things needed to fish your able to purchase the n the office. The other camper's whom were just renting for the weekend as my daughter and her family were to the camper's whom have a spot all year long or to the camper's whom indefinitely have a spot, each & every person were all so friendly & social. It was a great feeling like a big family. Northern Exposure Resort was a very enjoyable experience my grandkids really had a blast, made a few friends & enjoyed their weekend as well as us adults SO with or without kids the resort is family oriented. I thoroughly loved as well as enjoyed the weekend trip camping. It's so great to be able to do things together again, not only the family but with nice folks from the owners to the other HAPPY Camper's such as myself & my daughter and her family 3-kids 12, 11, 9 & Husband. After all everyone has been through with the pandemic/ Coronavirus & being in a stay at home mode. It's really good to be able to see some Smile's, Sunshine, Socializing, Giggles & Laughs, Fishing, Outdoor Games, Walks, Hikes, BBQ's & the Smell's of all the Amazing food through out the camping resort, then the Sunset's, Campfires, S'mores, & just So, So much Fun once AGAIN being brought to families, the kids especially, couples just everyone young & older as myself. It put a big smile on my face as well as a warm heart seeing people out & about. *** Thank you Northern Exposure Resort Owners it was a phenomenal weekend. June 2021. *** Dawn Maskrey Kowarsch & Family loved the whole atmosphere
We love this campground .... if you are looking for a nice get-away for your family, this may be the place. All cabins are on the lake so when you are enjoying a picnic lunch or sitting around the campfire, you have a beautiful view of the lake. They recently added a roof over the lake side of the deck, so even if the weather isn't agreeable, you have nice outside seating. The cabins are relatively new and in great condition. We caught nice size bluegills off the dock, did some kayaking .... we brought our own, but do believe they rent kayaks & pontoons ... if not, the sports store in town will deliver kayaks and paddle boards to your doorstep. Also saw children swimming off the large dock in back of the office .... Chetek also has a very nice city beach. If you are a weekend warrior, this probably won't be a good fit for you, because they have 10PM quiet time .... for families with children, grandchildren or even grandparents, this is great! The owners are very nice people .... every encounter, they asked if all was well. Will be going back for the 4th time!!
Great location and lots of stuff to do. You can rent a boat, go fishing, swim, or just sit around, but the campsites are very small. We got yelled at for making too much noise. If 4 adults can't sit around a fire until midnight on a Friday night, then this isn't the place to stay if you like talking around a campfire. Also, the owner told us there were no more open spots for our friends. We got there and there were plenty. He just didn't want to deal with the people. We talked to a resident of the place who said the owner was an a-hole, then recommended a place across the lake called Summer Haven.
My husband and I along with our 2 young boys 3 & 4 rented a cabin for Labor Day weekend. Yes, check in was a little awkward, but I paid the rest of what was owed after deposit and was given my key and shown which cabin we were in and where to park. The inside of the cabin was gorgeous! Everything was real clean and put together nicely! All we needed to bring were towels, toiletries, and groceries. There was a refrigerator, microwave, stove, coffee pot, all pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. The view outside the cabin was breathtaking! We saw the owner outside a few times and he spoke with us and was very nice. We ran out of cash the last night we stayed you will need cash to purchase anything at the campgrounds and didn't want to go into town to buy more firewood, and the owner actually gave us some wood for free! We had a great experience and plan to come back
Owner was extremely rude. We visited the campground looking for a permanent site 2 weeks before coming. Showed up and he screwed up our reservations and was not welcoming at all. In fact it was as if we were an inconvenience for being here. Even after the fact they said they have many seasonal openings and are hardly ever filled on weekends. We rented a pontoon from them and that was also difficult. Nothing is clearly communicated here. His wife is re ally nice as are a lot of the campers. We had 4 adults at the campfire till 11:46 and he told us we were too loud. Even though we had no music on and were talking as our kids slept. Also he insisted all dogs be on leashes when his cats roam the whole campground. I highly recommend finding another place. There is a reason they have seasonals open. Could be a nice place but not with the current owner.
