I really enjoy trying new foods and this place was referred to me by a Finnish friend. They have 100 percent rye bread here. Beautiful loaves. They also have speciality jams, sweets, and meats. The owner was very helpful in telling me about the foods. This place is awesomely close to the GO train station, and not far from the waterfront area so you could stop here for your last minute entertaining needs on the way home, or on the way to the waterfront since their offerings would be perfect for a nibbles board. I am pleased I don't have to drive to Toronto or try to find items. Very clean shop.
I originally came to this rather off-kilter Finnish/Scandinavian deli for the rye bread, but my utter delight this place also sells sweet baked goods! I didn't know until once I was leaving that they sell frozen cinnamon buns, but I grabbed some Finnish doughnuts. So fragrant and flavourful! A nice place to enjoy some hard-to-find Finnish baked goods! - Mimi's Cake Tour
I visit Nordic Foods regularly…all the way from Toronto! My background is Finn, and all my favs like pulla, siinappi, makkara, chocolate mint candies, Finnish ground coffee, and Lingonberry jam!!! I get my Finnish fix there with the food and a bit of conversation with the owner and his Finnish accent…I throw in a few Finn phrases I do remember, and he’s kind enough to not laugh at my poor Finnish! Love going there! 5 from me!!!
Great place, although he is never open when everyone is our condo building wants his food. Sunday’s and after 5 when most people get off work he is closed. Would have had my business at least 2-3 times per week if he was open. Good food, nice guys, horrible hours.
It's my go to choice, for various Baltic foods.
The owner is a very friendly man. When you go take your time. Have a coffee, chat a little and pick up few things.
