Food is really good... I can't wait to get back to the New Orleans kitchen. It leaves a serious craving for more bourbon chicken. Served fast. Perfect for The working class lunch break.
Love their food!! Try the cabbage. For it not to have any kind of meat in it. It has lots of flavor!! The bourbon chicken and the catfish are my favorite
Sadly the restaurant has closed and the owner has decided to not reopen. The entire building exchanged owners and there are major renovations taking place. This was my favorite place for bourbon chicken for over 10 years. You'll be missed!
Enjoyed it, cool place. Service a little slow, but fun to hang out.
I don't write reviews like this, but this was absolutely awful... List of dislikes below. - Advertised Red Beans and Rice. Did not have them. - I got the ribs tips. So much hard gristle chunks I had to spit out my food. Such a bad cut of meat. There was more bone, fat, and gristle than edible meat. Had to throw out my food.
I rarely write reviews but need to let others know that this food is trash. Gumbo is a greasy mess. Mac and cheese is basic at best. With all the good food in Chicago, this is not the place to go. Zero stars if I could. And after reading some of the other reviews, I pray I don't get food poisoning. Throwing food out as we speak.
I went to order the Catfish PoBoy when the staff gave me a sample of the BBQ chicken. I was sold! I ordered both. The food is great. The staff is friendly. The portions were large. And, the price was fair. What more can one ask for?
My coworkers and I go here quite often. The generous portions, wide variety of choices, meal flexibility and customer service make New Orleans Kitchen an easy choice in the Thompson Center. You can get the several other fast food options anywhere, but this place always has fresh, quality meals ready to be served - usually more than you can eat! I recommend the bourbon chicken and/or the broccoli chicken.
Food is very good and reasonably priced for what you get. Very pleased!
Really enjoyed the shrimp po boy. Came with a drink and two sides. The side of cabbage was good but a bit too much butter. The Mac and cheese was bad and if recommend against it. It's in the food court of the Thompson Center which is really busy and loud during lunch. I usually get stuff from here to go so I can eat outside or just take it back to the office.
