Amazing decor! Felt like I was in a scene of blade runner/the fifth element ! The ramen is one of the best in Montreal tbh. The noodles were chewy, the pork was extra flavourful and the broth was salty enough. I would definitely recommend the dry ramen version as it is cheaper and has more consistency but if you can, order both!service is good but a bit slow. All things considered, I really enjoyed this new restaurant and am looking forward to come back!
4 stars mainly for the mains. The ramen noodles were so good!!! The texture was spot on, good portions. THE starters were not the greatest. I had the spicy Karaage, which was more sweet than spicy. What I thought was chili flake was actually dried cranberries... the pumpkin seeds in the mix were bizarre. Service was indeed slow. But I think I would wanna have some ramen again there. The decor is gorgeous. The coconut icecream was Everything!!! Get that.
The food was average, the vibe was cool, the service was friendly, the wait at the door was reasonable, but we waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order and the wait for the food was loong an hour. We had the tonkotsu ramen and the vegetarian ramen, as you can see in the pictures. We also tried the karaage chicken. The chicken was very good and came with a delicious mayo sauce, I believe had yuzu and wasabi. The portion though was small for $11. The tonkotsu ramen, nothing special. The vegan ramen was salty, although the flavour of the broth was good. I personally don't like cauliflower so I wish there was another topping and I wish it came with the option of an egg. Not sure if I'll come here again... Might give the no-broth noodles a try, but I'm hesitant. All in all, average. Thank you. Vegetarian options: They have a vegan ramen soup Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs, just two sets of doors to get in
The restaurant is extremely packed but also very worth trying for. We waited almost an hour to get in and ordered a lot of food. The veggie eterian ramen was SO good, I definitely recommend this place. The food and the vibes are immaculate
Neo Tokyo is a Japanese fusion restaurant offering a unique dining experience with its innovative and flavorful dishes. The menu features a mix of traditional Japanese cuisine and contemporary flavors, creating a fusion that is both delicious and exciting. The presentation is visually enticing. The atmosphere is modern and futuristic, with a fun and relaxed vibe. I'd say kinda like a cyber punk vibe. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to try something new and exciting in Japanese cuisine. I recommend the Matcha Beer, Spicy Karaage, and the Taiwanese Mazeboba.
7.2/10 Unimpressed. Not bad, but not great. Everything was just ok. Sesame cucumber salad, just ok. Vegetarian ramen, lacking umami, salt, garlic or green onions. The truffle flavor is there, but it’s just lacking. The portions aren’t HUGE, but they’re ok. I would add some noodles. Comparing to Nakamura from the same chef in New York, it’s not even close. Decor is good. You’ll sit close to people, but whatever. Might be part of the whole cyberpunk theme… They definitely could’ve done more. Drinks were good!! Replicant is tasty! Overall, stick to Yokato Yokabai/Ichigo Ichie on Rachel. Vegetarian options: 2 options of appetizers besides edamame and one option for main.
Was there for the soft opening. Usually these events are hush-hush. Small crowds to allow the manager and staff get acquainted with the menu and drinks. Surprisingly, the place was crowded!! And we arrived relatively late, near 8:30pm. The service was a bit slow which was expected considering how busy it was on its first night wish others who were present could have understood this... Regardless, the staff was kind, professional. The cocktail Natsu was delicious. I’m pretty picky with the edemame. I really loved their version. Not a big fan of ramen but I was impressed with the vegetarian one. I would definitely return for the Taiwanese Mezeboba. Tasty discovery that keeps on giving! The decor is quite interesting and makes for a nice ambiance. Would recommend :
Really nice cozy place, really friendly staff. Loved it. I would definitely recommend it.Food: 5/5
I happen to live nearby so I went twice and tried their entire menu. It’s white people “asian” food with excellent decor. They serve Taiwanese noodles as one of their main dishes alongside Japanese ramen. Ramen was extremely bland on my first visit then extremely salty on my second. Portion size for the appetizers are smoll so I would skip that. Skip the highball cocktail too, they suck. Consistency is a big issue with Neotokyo. Get “kitchen nightmares” to come and fix your restaurant.
Food was great! The atmosphere is awesome! You really feel in a Cyberpunk bar! The staff was incredible! I will definitely go back! I recommend everyone to go try it
