Mystic Muffin is a Canadian fast-food falafel restaurant in Toronto, Canada, located at the corner of Jarvis St. and Richmond St. The restaurant serves falafel and chicken pitas, salads and pies but it is known by Toronto residents for its apple cake and its owner, Elias Makhoul.HistoryMystic Muffin's owner Elias Makhoul was born in southern Lebanon, and moved to Canada at age 21. During the Great Recession, Makhoul offered free meals and free cooking classes to regular customers who had been laid off from their jobs.Makhoul also ran for mayor in the 2003 Toronto municipal election but received less than one per cent of the total votes.

This place the absolute best Apple Cake on the planet. Jamaican Patty's too. They're incredibly good to the homeless 8n the area and are very worthy of your business. Feel good about supporting these guys. They're a legend for good reason.
I went here this afternoon to pick up and try their famous apple cake. I got home, devoured it and called the owner to tell him it was amazing. It's moist and flavourful, yet not overly sweet. The portion is generous too. The owner is a gem and he told me his business is 28 years old. I'll be getting more next week and can't wait.
A welcoming family-run business. The banana bread and apple cake are highly recommended. Might want to call ahead to reserve the apple cake, as they go fast. Good breakfast items too.

Tried the infamous apple cake and it was amazing! Perfectly crispy on the outside, and heavenly soft and moist on the inside, with sizeable apple slices. We also ordered a falafel wrap with chickpea salad on the side. Although the wrap was not very big, the falafel was very good - crispy and flavourful. Will be back :
Absolutely great falafel and their apple cake is delicious ! My husband used to go there quite often when he was working in the area and raves about it. So, we drove downtown and had a Covid-19 lunch in the car date. The incredibly nice owner brought it out to us. Mystic Muffin made it special. Worth the drive.
