Mr. Xu Duck Noodle Soup 胥先生

They serve food from my hometown which I haven't had in years, the duck soup smelled just like what I remembered however the flavor was boosted by nothing but MSG... I haven't had soup that's loaded with this much MSG for a very long time, not even in China...

not to my taste... some of the innards were overcooked for my liking... the duck blood was good tho... I paid $15 which felt a little much to me... not sure i would go back.

As a Nanjinian for more than 35 years, I have been missing this dish for years in Toronto, until now! What can I say, when I had the first sip of the soup, I’m in tears! Taste of home!

MSG WARNING - It taste good with the chili oil, a bit too salty for me, but really reminds me of what I had in China, but unfortunately in Mr. Xu's the umami of the soup is mostly based on MSG, if you do not believe it leave a little until it cools down and the strong MSG smell will be very obvious... It lingered in my nose for a long time. And I was thirsty all night, drank a lot of water couldn't help. If the soup is good regardless of how much MSG in there, the other side dishes and appetizers were not worth the money. Just stick with the soup and maybe the red bean soup as dessert. FRESHNESS - I think the toppings were good but my dad said some of the duck liver in his soup stinks, maybe not all of them were fresh enough. I will not order again...

BEST MALL FOOD EVER!!!! So good I could probably eat it every day for the rest of my life, very authentic and perfectly seasoned.

Their soups are delicious.. signature duck vermicelli is incredible
