Celebrated my birthday with a friend at this location. We had fried pickles, shrimp tacos and coconut crusted fish. Food was hot and tasty, server was friendly and attentive. Gave us a free dessert of our choice, we chose a yummy chocolate mousse cake with cheesecake chunks. Booths were quiet and comfy. Really enjoyable evening, we will definitely be back.

I was looking forward to the nostalgia of going to Mr Mike's after a long hiatus. Initial impressions from viewing their online menu were positive. Upon arrival, both hosts were inattentive with their backs facing me for a while. This was not a very promising start. I was eventually given a twenty minute wait time for a table of three. The couple who arrived just before us were seated in less than ten minutes. I figured we were next, but group after group (at least six) were seated before us. What gives? They couldn't all have had reservations. After finally getting our table after an over thirty minute wait (which was still dirty and not set), we received prompt, friendly taking of our order. Water took two requests to arrive, and cutlery was dirty and not promptly replaced. Food arrived in a timely manner. Vegetables were steamed perfectly. Steaks were cooked to the right doneness, but the rib eyes were thin and no more flavourful than something I have purchased at a grocery store and cooked myself. Requests for condiments were quickly fulfilled. The server and manager did check in on us, but we didn't voice any complaints at the time because we didn't expect any resolution to come of our particular concerns. I don't complain to get free stuff. I just expect competent service from the start. They were friendly the entire time, and that's hard to fix if they're not. The poor execution of their service can be fixed, but I won't be risking my valuable entertainment time nor money on a repeat visit. My fond memories of Mr Mike's will just have to remain in the distant past.

Such good steaks. I had their 8 oz. sirloin and it was cooked exactly they way I liked it!

Update: Came back here after the renos. It's nice inside with friendly staff. Don't get the spiced apple punch sociabowl. It was so watered down with no flavour. They even remade it for us (great service) but still no beuno. Stick with the pink elephant if you want to try something new. Helpful staff! Delicious food as always with good service. Friendly staff, comfy atmosphere. Gobbled down one of my shrimp tacos before I even thought to snap a picture. The steak is always cooked the way you want it too. Never disappointed here. Good value as well.
