I’ve been working out on my own for years, but recently decided to get a personal trainer. I started with Mike in Sept 2019 and it was honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made. Mike has met and exceeded all of my expectations. He is a great motivator, super friendly, a skilled powerlifter, very organized, thoughtful and technically proficient. I have seen excellent progress in a short period of time and I'm always looking forward to the next workout. In fact, he's such an effective coach, I'm now thinking about yearly goals instead of monthly. I recommend Mike without any hesitation whatsoever. He’s the best!!
I saw Mike to address chronic upper back and shoulder issues stemming from previous injury, after experiencing only marginal improvements with chiro and physio. I honestly cannot speak highly enough about Mike. He is ridiculously good at his job. His training method, encyclopaedic knowledge, patience I ask a lot of questions lol, attentiveness and encouragement really set him apart. In the months that I’ve trained with him, I’ve seen significant improvements in range of motion, pain, reoccurrence of injury and strength that has far surpassed any of my initial expectations, to the point where my goal has shifted from injury prevention to seeing how far I can push myself and training as a hobby. Bonus: my volleyball game has also greatly improved as a result : 10/10 would recommend
I started training with Mike in late 2019, and highly recommend him! His group classes are targeted and small, and filled with motivated people who help push you along. Mike knows how to target minor imperfections in form and will push you until you get it just right. I've come a long way in the short few months with him! Not only is he helping me hit and build on my personal goals, he's also helping me as a trainer - I have a whole new set of tools and tips to pass on to the members of the gym I work at as well!
I’ve been training with Mike since January and it’s been a game changer! Mike is a super motivating and highly skilled trainer. Classes are small and programs are designed specifically for you. This set up and Mike’s focus on technique has allowed me to progress significantly in a short amount of time - in strength and confidence! For the first time ever I actually look forward to going to the gym. Since Covid-19 hit we’ve been doing live video sessions. I’m so impressed by how much he can pick up by video and definitely pushing myself harder than I would on my own. Mike is a true pro!
There was a time when I used to plan my training around my hectic work schedule. These days, I plan my life around my training schedule. I use Mike's personal training class as a way to kick off my week. Mike has changed the way I think about fitness. I can't say enough good things about what it has done for me. My focus is better, my fitness level has risen considerably and my outlook is incredibly positive. The classes are an incredible challenge your limits are tested weekly. Mike is a stickler for good form. He will work with you to make certain that you are on the right path. Mike has given me an opportunity to push myself to new heights. If you are striving to reach another level with your fitness training, look no further. MP Fit is the right fit for you!
What sets Mike aside as a trainer is definitely his extensive knowledge of body mechanics and his focus on technical movement. Mike introduced me to strength training last year, and it has been my favourite type of training ever since. I have learned about complex strength movements and even some Olympic weightlifting, which I never thought I would one day try. I also really enjoy Mike's conditioning classes for their variety and the precision of the workouts. Mike always makes sure you understand the movements so when you’re training on your own, you know what to focus on. He is always very supportive and his teaching results in long term gains. I can only recommend that you give his free week trial a shot and see for yourself :
I've never had a fitness instructor who was so invested and excited to work with his clients before. Not only was Mike amazing at giving detailed and specific workouts towards the goals I set out to achieve but he is also the most technically sound instructor I've had. Mike monitors and improves my technique on a consistent basis and he is incredibly talented at creating effective programs and safe habits for me to work on. He is the main reason I've become so excited and dedicated to fitness which was a huge obstacle for me to overcome and I still work with Mike to this day. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to improve or just enter into the world of fitness.
A friend recommended Mike to me in 2017 so I gave it a try. Right from the get-go, I found him very knowledgeable and focused on technical movements, which I love. Strength training wasn't exactly my forte until I started working out with Mike, but I can now say that it has become my number one focus. I have never felt better about myself, or healthier. Mike is also very attentive and great at adapting workouts based on specific requirements I, for instance, was aiming for a flatter belly ha. I no longer live in Canada, but I continue to train with Mike online. He designed a workout program that I am able to do on my own and we have weekly check ups. Thank you for all you do, Mike!!
After my first born and a difficult delivery, I needed a core focused program to get back into shape. My husband trains with Mike so I decided to take personal sessions as well. Thanks to his knowledge and technical program, I was able to resume work I am a swimming instructor after a couple of months. I would recommend Mike to anyone motivated to get better and healthier. Mike will help you smash your goals!!!
I travel a lot for work and I have to be on my feet all day. My main issue was not finding the motivation to hit the gym because I couldn’t find a trainer to train with on a regular basis. That, and not knowing what to focus on in order to be physically less tired at the end of the day. My sister trains with Mike and is very happy so when I saw he does online training, I signed up. We had a first assessment session over Skype. Once Mike knew what my issues were and what my goals were, he put me on a tailored program 3x/week. It’s been 2 months and I’m loving the results. He had me develop my core and back muscles so I’m able to handle the standing and bending over positions better. I have more energy at the end of the day and my lower back doesn’t hurt nearly as much. Thank you Mike!
