Mount Revelstoke National Park
"Mount Revelstoke National Park showcases western Canada’s dramatic mountain landscapes, from dense rainforests to craggy peaks. At the valley floor, marvel at enormous skunk cabbages standing taller than a ten-year-old and massive red cedars that were mere saplings when Columbus set sail for the New World. As you leave the Trans-Canada Highway and begin to wind your way up Mount Revelstoke, forest giants give way to gentle woods of spruce and fir.Atop the Meadows in the Sky Parkway, drink in the explosion of colour as fields of wildflowers extend in all directions. Along the way, feel the butterflies in your stomach as you pause at the point of no return, atop what was once Canada's longest ski jump."

Beautiful. Lots of different types of hikes for everyone to do. Miller lake is a must do for slightly intermediate hikers. Trails are pretty well kept road goes on forever
We stayed at snowforest over the May long weekend. This is a relatively new campground and we really enjoyed our stay. Sites are well spaced, bathroom and washing facilities are very modern and clean, wood is available for camp fires make sure to bring an axe, not just a hatchet, and the trails literally leave from the campground to hike as far as you possibly like. Definitely going to become our regular stay when visiting Revelstoke. Highly recommend booking early for peak times. Limited first-come-first-servecspots available. Restrooms: Very modern and clean bathrooms and shower block.
There was no access for us to the top because we had are puppy with us … because of people not putting there dog on a leash and now all dog owners pay for someone else not following rules …. They should allow us access to the top … make us pay fee to use the area…
Really amazing fall colours on the entire drive up on the Meadows of the Sky Parkway. The park was closed at the Columbia lookout due to snow at the top. Mt. Revelstoke is one of the smallest park in Canada 260kms. Check out the Nels Nelson Ski Jump, Broken Bridge hike was a short 30mins hike in, Sorensen hike 2km and many more. Be sure to check out Skunk Cabbage and the Giant Cedar Boardwalk on the drive into Revelstoke. Both short and a sweet walk with photo ops and views.
Always a beautiful place to visit. We were early in the season, so the road was only open half way, but beautiful nonetheless. Can't wait to go back in August when the flowers are in full bloom.
You need a national park pass to camp + the camping fees + a fire permit to make a fire and you can’t add a second vehicle to your camping spot. It jumped to 50$ without the fire permit because we didn’t have a pass. Also, we couldn’t put a tent in the camping spot because of a black bear and talked to people who reserved in January and were told they couldn’t come with their car tent in September the due date… I have to say though that the toilets and showers are just amazing. Beside that, great camping.
One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. We drove to the parking lot and walked the rest of the way to the summit instead of taking the shuttle. It was a gentle enough walk and took a short time to get to the top. There are numerous other hiking trails on the mountain, and when we reached the top there were lovely trails of different levels of difficulty. The views are incredible! I highly recommend visiting it!
The drive up to the top is spectacular! We did this drive in mid July and the wildflowers lining the road were beautiful. There were many hikes available along the way up, it was not congested with tourists, and parking was available in the middle of the day at the top. There was also a free shuttle up and down for those not able to make the short uphill hike to the summit. I would highly recommend this park and the sky meadow parkway for anyone who would like to enjoy the Canadian Rockies without crowds and with light to no hiking.
We did a fantastic half day hike from about 2/3 of the way up to the top of the mountain. I highly recommend not driving all the way up - there are some really beautiful trails and very helpful park staff eager to help anyone with questions. Highly recommend!
We were here September 2017. What a beautiful spot! Definitely take the time and drive to the top and do some hiking! Be careful, we saw a grizzly bear! Place is safe, lots of park rangers around and the beauty of nature here is absolutely remarkable! The hiking is fantastic!
