Polar Express in 2013 was wonderful. Took 3 year-old grandson and the whole ride was magical. The conductor did his part very well. He was great. We went to see the movie at the Omni Theatre the afternoon before the train ride too. The hot cocoa cups and big cookie and caroling - great too. The only thing missing - the hot cocoa server/dancers.

We took the Train to Christmas Town. It was great - there were things that happened the same time to keep the kids engaged. And it was the best Santa experience I've ever seen - Santa sat down with each kid and talked to them and let the parents take as many pictures as we wanted. And the cookie and hot chocolate were tasty. I thought the price was a bit steep originally, but after going I feel like it was well worth it. We had a great time.

We booked for the ride 2 weeks in advance. The instructions asked us to come 45 minutes early to collect tickets. We were there 1 hour before. There was no one at the ticket office. The train didn’t come at all. We waited 30 minutes after the allotted time too. We were not informed anything about cancellation. There were other people waiting too.. very very bad service. We drove 2 hours to come to Mt Hood Railroad.. extremely disappointed.

I gave my three grandchildren and their parents tickets as a gift. They were perfect ages, 4, 2, and 2. They loved riding the train and the "Polar Express" book experience. Hearing from the kids and seeing their happy faces in the many pictures taken by their parents is how the 5 stars were earned. I read some very harsh reviews (a different site) that were from an adults point of view. (Adult is a stretch in several cases.) My daughter, as an adult, said some parts outside were "cheesy," but the eyes of my granddaughter saw the entire trip like a two year old. She and her cousins enjoyed it very much. Adults please READ the website information! It clearly states and explains why not all groups can be seated together. My children and their families weren't together, they did seat shuffling and were able to enjoy each other in one place or the other! My daughter also did some research. Friends who'd been before advised to "go coach," for the best "Polar Express" experience.
