Mother's Cupboard

I was very excited to try this place, I am honestly surprised with the review I am giving it. We were not expecting cash only, not a big deal, had to go get cash. The long wait to be seated in a very small booth, again we knew it was a small place so not really too big of a deal. But the service wasn't amazing, they were a bit all over and we had to request a few things more than once. That could be due to the constant flow of people, but I did expect better service. What I really expected was a better quality of food, this place has some amazing reviews which talk it up, but my food wasn't nearly that amazing. I really wanted to be wowed by this place but even going to the bathroom was awkward, a walk down a wobbly set of stairs to an extremely small bathroom. The only real plus side was the quantity of food for the price. So, if you are looking for a large amount of food that is just okay and doesn't cost too much, this place will work.

Tried this spot on a whim. We all found it to be delicious. That pancake did not disappoint. Daughter got a Monte Cristo no ham... She loved it. My cousin and I each got omelets... Also stuffed and huge. They were slammed and overwhelmed... But food still came fresh and hot. Got multiple coffee refills... I would love to try the loaded potato omelet next time with a splash of hot sauce. Vegetarian options: They left the meat out for my daughter.

I’ve been meaning to try Mother’s Cupboard for a long time and only recently was able to get around to it. I have to say it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in the Syracuse area, with the frittata omelette I ordered being absolutely massive and delicious. I can usually finish an omelette no problem but this one was bigger than most! The coffee was great as well as the service. This is one of the better breakfast spots in the area in my opinion, and I’ve tried many of them.

Whatever other low rating said, but I think food is what's important. I ordered a frittata Omelet, the flavor of the food pops. I admit when I arrive, the shack looks a little weird, but never judge the book by its cover. I am sure when I got another chance to visit this town, I will come for the breakfast again.

Food was great, portions are HUGE, price was low. We got their World class Frittata only the half size beits enormousThe wait staff and cooks were working their butts off to get people served in a timely manner. Not an eloquentway to say it, but they were seriously running. Everything was REAL food, fresh not frozen or processed. The only negative was that the place was a little dirty and run down. Could use a little sprucing up. ; however one does not go to a dinner for ambiance. If you want good, fresh, down home cooking for a great price THIS is your place :D

First time visiting and we will definitely be back! It was about a 30 min wait for a table and it was worth it! We decided to get a few dishes and share, the fruit pebble french toast was super sweet but delicious! Super large portions, and everything was delicious!

It looks small from the outside, but is amazing the people that go through here during breakfast !! Cooked at the grill, on the spot !! This is the rare holy trinity - cheap, good, plentiful. On top of that it's fast! If you go, bring cash. Mothers cupboard is already a bit of a local legend, and for good reason. The place is famous for the size of everything and the small price you pay for it. Having eaten here and limped out of the restaurant I can confirm it's all true - you can expect to eat here and be full all day for just a few dollars.

Nuthin' could be finer than breakfast at Mother's Cupboard diner in the Mornin'. I was looking for a mom & pop breakfast place while in Syracuse and went in. Great atmosphere, welcome, service, most importantly, great food!!! Gotta try fried kielbasa at home...
