Story

Morrison Financial Services is a boutique non-bank lender formed in 1987. Since that time, we have grown organically through the development and delivery of specialized lending products focused in markets not well serviced by traditional lending institutions. Today our group is a diversified provider of financial services to hundreds of businesses and individuals.

Our initial product was Invoice Discount Financing (Factoring), and that continues to be a successful mainstay of our business.

In 1993, Morrison Financial was the first company in Canada to advance a loan to an existing condominium corporation. We now command the largest share of this market in Canada. CondoCorp Term Financing™ helps to provide long-term loans to condominium corporations that are in need of funds to complete major repairs to their common elements.

In 1996, Morrison Financial Mortgage Corporation was formed to provide construction financing, commercial, industrial, and residential mortgage-based financing for non-conventional projects. This activity is currently the major focus of growth within our organization.

In 2005, the Government of Ontario enacted legislation allowing municipalities to offer brownfield remediation tax increment grants to property owners as an inducement for them to remediate contaminated lands. Morrison Financial was an early entrant to this market with financing for these grants. In this program we provide cash to land owners as reimbursement for the clean-up and redevelopment of contaminated land in municipal community improvement plan areas.

Morrison Financial also, on a select basis provides Foreign Exchange services to its client companies, to facilitate foreign currency conversion transactions at rates significantly more favourable than they can obtain themselves.
