Definitely worth going to on Sunday's! I highly recommend it. From the monument, you have access to all the trails and beautiful views of the city. I would recommend starting here and walking to Beaver Lake and then the look outs. You'll have amazing views and get a truly authentic Montreal experience. Go and check it out! In the fall with the foliage, it's BEAUTIFUL!!
Quite the imposing monument, dated to the early twentieth century in a time of Anglo-European certainty, privilege and optimism. The Great War World War I savagely ended that. It's an intentionally grand monument, backed by Mont Royal, deserving of a four-stop curcumabulation to contemplate from a distance and close up the monument's excellence in design and quality. Later commemorative attempts could not compete.
Beautiful i came to chill out, there were people playing music during the weekend
Great spot to enter the park from if you are looking to explore the walking/hiking trails. Beautiful open green areas on either side of the monument. Close by to lots of cool bars and restaurants. Really fun to just see people out and about on a Saturday afternoon in summer. One of our favorite parts of the city that we visited.
for locals and tourists, I recommend going on Sunday afternoon until early evening, to bask in the sun and dance along tam-tams
