Monsoon Izakaya

Tried Monsoon Izakaya for the first time and all I can say is, we were not disappointed with the food and service. Service was great and the food came out quickly. My only complaint would be the bones in the mackerel were left in. Had to pick through our mackerel order, so as to avoid getting one stuck in our throats. Other than that, the mackerel was cooked perfectly and I loved the condiment that came with it. Would definitely go back here and recommend the creamy scallop and truffle prawn rolls. They were just amazing!

Absolutely amazing experience! Everything was great quality, service was top tier. We had Leo as our server and he did such an awesome job. We got the wagyu Stone grill and oh my gosh definitely worth the money. However, our favourite menu piece today was the Pink Moon oysters, never thought it would be such a treat to have. I will be coming back with way more people to experience how great this restaurant is.

Excellent food and service every time we come here. The servers and staff are very friendly, and the food although it can take a bit of time is definitely worth the wait as it is very delicious with good portions as well. They have some pretty good daily specials as well especially on ramen. There is a good amount of competition for Japanese restaurants in the Chinook area, but I highly recommend checking these guys out!

5star decorations 5 star services 5star food quality Having the dinner during our trip to Calgary a week ago. Finally have some spare time to give review on this restaurant. Decoration I love their decoration idea, the wine bottle are all around the sushi Section. Service Our server Leo was amazing and professional, recommend different specials, we have been taken care by him so well. And all the other staff are so nice too. Food Excellent food with affordable price. My Favourite food is lobster udon. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Decent price. Food was tasty. Service was good. We ordered delivery a few times before we went for dine in. It was a good experience overall. Liked the smoked duck soba noodle soup the most. They have a lot good stuff I wanna try in the future.

Was looking for a Japanese restaurant that was opening at 2pm. Found this please and decided to try it out. They have a fantasric atmosphere and great staff. They took to time to show and explain the menu to us and even showed us the specialty fish on their phones. We didn't end up getting the specialty fish but maybe next. He commented the fish is from Japan and comes in every Monday and Thursday. Prices were reasonable and portion sizes are good. The oysters are very fresh. Will go back again for other items!

My first experience here was fantastic; cannot think of anything negative about it. The ambience and decor is unique, artistic, and cozy did not expect fireplaces and a cool ramp!. Chris was our server for the evening and he was attentive, friendly, and gave his recommendations for certain menu items. We tasted the oysters, various sushi, special rolls, and their beverages. All tasted fresh and/or with good seasoning. The prices of the cocktails are actually quite affordable! I will be definitely revisit to try more items!

Had our lunch here, best service! Service: We had Leo as our server. He is great. His service is outstanding! Food: All food are really good. I like the lobster roll most! Will come again because of the service!

It’s the best quality sushi we’ve had in Calgary. Definitely not a cheap place to eat by any means - but a nice treat. Would recommend slow eating and savouring the food to truly enjoy it.

Great service and cute decor! They have new daily specials now and we tried the ramen, which at $6.50, is a deal! The lobster bisque udon was innovative and delicious, every single drop was devoured. The sashimi was fresh but the cutting skills were only mediocre. Bone and scales were still attached to some pieces. Will go back to try the rest of their menu though!
