Story

Mon Ami Gabi is an authentic turn-of-the-century Parisian bistro serving French classics like Steak Frites, Onion Soup Au Gratin, Trout Almondine and Escargots de Bourgogne. To complement the menu, an extensive selection of more than 80 boutique French wine varietals, handpicked by renowned chef and owner Gabino Sotelino, are served by the glass or bottle from our signature rolling wine cart. Join us Saturday and Sunday for brunch featuring our take on French breakfast favorites and made-to-order brunch cocktails. Cooking classes, seasonal chef dinners, wine tastings and catering services for parties of all sizes complete the offerings.

If you've never been here you are totally missing out. Is amazing. Everyone knows how how the dishes are prepared and what wines compliment the dish. You have dietary restrictions the chef will be happy to tailor your meal.... Happy hour the best place to start. You can order a specialty drink and an appetizer and it won't break the bank.

We love the food, but we should know that the service could slow down due to Restaurant Week. We watched at least 4 tables of people come in after us & leave before us, though. Then, our dinners came out cool to the touch. They were promptly replaced, but then we waited another 15 minutes for dessert. We ordered from the Prix Fixe menu, so we thought that dinner would go quickly. We did get one drink comped because we spilled by accident, but we thought that the manager would have stopped by again to check on us. We won't give up on Mon Ami Gabi, but we will check ahead of time to avoid special events which seemed to throw them off on their service. We don't want another 2 hour dinner!

Their food is amazing. I love their onion soup and kale bacon salad. The steaks are cooked and seasoned perfectly. I don't love their duck à l’Orange. It was not as well seasoned as the French restaurant in Glen Elyn. I wish they were open earlier on weekends for brunch because their brunch is so good. They also have a ton of gluten free choices.

The food was all phenomenal and very flavorful. The waitress was attentive even with tables in another room. Great restaurant for a celebration. Pricey, but the food is worth it. Some of the escargot were a bit tough

My wife and I had a great experience for our wedding anniversary. From the easy reservation, the greet and awesome staff! Even the chef Bruce came out to say congratulations! Every single dish we had we awesome, tried the duck for first time, won't be my last! Highly recommend this restaurant!
